Collins Drake, the oldest of the Drake brothers, is all about control. As the big brother, a lot of responsibility has fallen squarely on his shoulders, and while he hasn’t complained or felt knocked down by the pressure, he hasn’t truly been living his life…he hasn’t been having fun…he hasn’t been feeling anything other than release – and that’s even turning into a problem;)
But that’s all about to change…
15 years ago, he gave his heart and his body to Mia Monroe, and although there’s been a large amount of time and distance between them, she’s going to shake up his world in a way that messy and unpredictability will become his norm, but that’s only if he’s willing to go on that adventure with her and hold true to their pinky promise all those years ago.
Readers weren’t given too much insight into what made Collins Drake who he is in the previous three books, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with him. He definitely carries himself as a mature and responsible adult, but in some ways, he’s almost too conscientious and that’s thwarted any attempts to be carefree or even smile…even his choice of a girlfriend, the ever plastic and bitchy Tatianna, is a safe place to not feel too much or lose control. But when Mia shows up on his doorsteps, readers see a much different Collins, and as their days and time together continue, Collins Drake becomes a plethora of feelings and uncontrollable urges, which is exactly the kind of shake up his life needs.
Mia’s the quintessential girl next door, and she opens Collins up again and shows him there’s a whole life out there worth living. She gives herself fully to the people she loves and her caring and considerate ways endear people to her almost immediately. Collins can’t help but feel whole with Mia back in his life, and Mia can’t help but want to have Collins in every facet of her life because he’s always had her heart.
Can Mia get the forever that she’s always wanted with Collins? Readers will have to pick up the final book in Kendall Ryan’s Filthy Beautiful Lies series and see for themselves.
Boy have the Drake brothers rocked my reading world! Colton, Pace, and Collins are all insanely sexy and a whole lotta alpha. I loved witnessing them get the girls they’re meant to have and even though done of their paths were easy, all three of the Drakes worked through the bullshit and the fears and fought for what they wanted.
I’m definitely sad to see this series end, but I know the Queen of Smut will continue to bring her A game in her future releases and I can’t wait;)
