BLOG TOUR STOP: REVIEW, TEASERS, AND GIVEAWAY: A Million Tiny Pieces by Nicole Edwards

Title: A Million Tiny Pieces
Author: Nicole Edwards
Genre: Adult, Erotic Ménage Romance
Release Date: January 20, 2015

Mia Cantrell is happy to be rid of her lying, cheating, ex-husband. With her divorce final, Mia is moving on, grasping the reins of life once more. She’s learning to deal with the shattered remains while putting one foot in front of the other, taking control of her own decisions, and ultimately living one day at a time. Too bad the universe has put a hiccup (or two) in her well thought out plan.

Phoenix Pierce is putting the pieces back together after the death of his father. Between his multi-million dollar company, the NHL team he now owns, and the endless supply of women willing to share a bed for one night of uninhibited sex, he finds himself going through the motions. Until he meets Mia. Although he’s on a mission to win her, that doesn’t solve his problem of the other person he wants… the man he has denied himself for years.

Tarik Marx doesn’t think anyone could ever fill the void in his life the way Phoenix unknowingly has. That is until he meets Mia. Thanks to a fractured childhood, Tarik has to face a bigger problem: he doesn’t know how it feels to be loved. His past adds additional complexity when Tarik finds himself trying to figure out how he can have them both.

Is it possible for a million tiny pieces to come together again? And if they do, will that make the bond even stronger than before?

Review (1)

One’s heart can be broken into a million tiny pieces in a variety of ways, but regardless of the incidences or the emotional trauma that creates the fractures, their impact is felt in every breath and beat of a heart that feels betrayed and beaten. For Mia, Phoenix, and Tarik, the three main characters of Nicole Edwards’ newest release, A Million Tiny Pieces, their torn apart hearts are caused by a love gone wrong, the loss of a father and the torment of conflicted feelings, and a childhood filled without love or comfort.

It’s not an easy path to mend what’s been shredded…to reclaim a heart that’s been forced to handle too much pain, but as a triad, Mia and her alpha males work together to do just that, pulling each other’s hearts back together and intertwining their bodies, their hearts, and their souls so that the past pain falls away and the love that they feel consumes them and molds them as one single unit against all of the bullshit that surrounds them.

Mia is a fantastic heroine who takes back control of her life and does everything she can to live life for herself – no longer a “trophy wife” but a passionate woman who deserves to feel loved and cherished. Her trepidation is understandable when it comes to Phoenix; she doesn’t want to want him and her feelings toward Tarik confuse her even more because it’s a foreign feeling to desire two men at the same time. As the story continues and Mia’s feelings for the two men in her life grow, she becomes a stronger woman, not backing down and not allowing the drama that consumes their lives to prevent her from living her life the way that makes her heart recover and soar.

Phoenix is alpha to the core, but he’s also a vulnerable mess of a man because he’s tormenting himself over his true feelings for Tarik and his need to force them back into the far depths of his psyche. Nicole Edwards does a fantastic job of illustrating Phoenix’s struggle and his ultimate decision to accept who he is and what he wants without pretense.

Tarik is a man who protects what and who he sees as his. His feelings for Phoenix consume him, but he does his best not to push Phoenix as he works out what he wants. Tarik is strong and fierce, never letting anyone get the upper hand. He may seem like he’s an emotionless man, but his past has defined him for so long that he doesn’t understand everything that he’s feeling, but with Mia by his side, she’ll show him what love, comfort, and caring feel like.

The connection that develops between Mia, Phoenix, and Tarik is off the charts hot and loving. The scenes between the three of them as well as their one on one time together help to illustrate the bond amongst them and solidify what they mean to each other. Their kind of relationship is a risk, especially with the media frenzy that surrounds them, but if they’re willing to ride out the storm together, it just might be the perfect way to glue the broken pieces of their hearts together.

A Million Tiny Pieces is a fantastic story. She blends erotic scenes, a solid storyline, and complex characters whose growth can be traced throughout the text, making it another must read from the mind of Nicole Edwards.
