Zara Cox
I, Porn Star
Release Date – March 14, 2016
Synopsis
My name is Quinn Blackwood: By day, I’m a billionaire CEO. Rich. Entitled.
By night, I’m the exclusive porn star only known as Q.
Why? Because I love women. If I believed in an almighty being, I’d thank him for creating them. They’re by far his most perfect creation… especially when I’m fucking one of them.
Oh, did I mention I’m an asshole? Fuck yeah. According to my shrink, I’m one twisted motherfucker. And that’s just the way I like it. Until she walks into my life…
***
My name is Elyse Gilbert, nicknamed ‘Lucky’ because according to my dad, I’m the unluckiest person alive, and I’ll die the same way I came into the world: naked, screaming, and dirt poor.
Yeah, my life is a twisted, seething mess. But that life changed the day I met HIM.
He made me forget the cameras.
He made me forget I was doing this for the money.
He made me forget my shame.
He made me forget everything. I was consumed by him. Only him.
But now my past has caught up with me.

Review
I, Porn Star was nothing like I expected it to be, but Zara Cox definitely knows how to write suspenseful, erotic and psychologically thrilling stories and that’s exactly what she gives her readers with Quinn and Elsye’s story.
But here’s the thing…it’s not just their story because there are numerous players involved in a widespread game that very few know they are playing. One person seems to be wielding all of the power – calling all of the shots, but when the game starts to have cracks in it and the moves aren’t as deliberate or calculating, another person takes a bit of that control away, causing changes and detours to be made that not only complicates the ending but might also cause the winner to be the loser in the end.
There’s a lot at stake for a number of people in I, Porn Star. The need for revenge, vindication, and protection rule the actions of both Quinn and Elly, and the decisions they make have far reaching consequences, ones that can both redeem and destroy…save and punish, and it remains unclear until the end of the story what the ramifications will be for all those involved.
Both Quinn and Elly are living a double life, creating personas to help them achieve their end goals – one’s being vengeance and the other’s being safety/security. The methods used are devious, dangerous, and depraved, but in Quinn and Elly’s estimation, there’s no other way to come to the resolution they need.
The connection between the hero and heroine becomes more than either bargained for early on in their agreement, resulting in a change of plans and directions numerous times. But both of them still have a goal to reach and the attraction between them can’t overpower what needs to be done, even if that means the dark and twisted game they’re playing thwarts a chance at anything real.
Zara Cox does a great job of illustrating both Quinn’s and Elly’s frame of mind throughout their interactions as Q and Lucky as well as Quinn and Elly. Their pasts are dark and painful, causing them to struggle to not act on feelings alone…to think things through and make reasonable decisions, but that’s not really possible with everything that’s been put into play and the differing agendas they have to set things right.
I, Porn Star gives readers insight into the different paths that people choose to live when they believe they have no other choice and the deception that occurs to get the outcome that is necessary. Nothing is what it seems and the facades Quinn and Elly construct make it difficult to truly understand who they are at their core, but by the end of the story, it’s clear that the things they have done and the scars that they’ve attained will always have a hold on them; it’s just how tightly that grip remains when everything is said and done.
A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.
