In the steamy and suspenseful sequel to Sugar Daddy (“A totally gripping take on romance and revenge!”—Lauren Blakely), a heartbreaking rift threatens to unravel a dangerous alliance . . . and a fragile new love.
Blurb
After posing as an escort for the Sugar Bowl online dating service, Sela Halstead is looking for one thing: payback. She’s closing in on the site’s heartless founder, Jonathon Townsend, and she needs Beckett North, Townsend’s business partner and her lover, by her side. She’d thought that their intimate nights together had forged an unbreakable bond, but after a shocking betrayal, Sela begins to doubt the brilliant bad boy. When push comes to shove, can she trust Beck to do the right thing?
Now that he understands the truth, Beck will stop at nothing to secure the reckoning Sela deserves. But between his desire for her and his disgust for JT, Beck doesn’t exactly have a lot of control over his emotional state. Left with no other choice, he must summon all his discipline to maintain JT’s trust and pretend that they’re still friends. But how far will Beck go to prove his loyalty to Sela? He nearly lost her once. To keep her, Beck might have to kill for her.
Note: Sugar Rush ends on a cliffhanger. Sela and Beck’s story concludes in Sugar Free!

Review
4.5 Poison Apples
The continuation of Sela and Beck’s story is still the cat and mouse game that started in Sugar Baby, but now that Beck knows the truth about what happened to Sela, he becomes another dominant player in Sela’s plans for revenge, and as Sela and Beck attempt to back JT in a corner with no way out, the rush they feel from beating a master manipulator at his own game can be felt in every maneuver and devious act they plan against him.
I appreciate the fact that Sawyer Bennett doesn’t make readers wait for Beck to come to terms with Sela’s betrayal; through his own point of view, we are allowed to see how quickly Beck puts the pieces of the puzzle together and finds validation in Sela’s words, and now that he knows and believes the whole story, he takes it upon himself to put all of his energy and money into bringing Sela’s rapist down. With that in mind, Beck and Sela need to determine how best to exact their revenge because Beck’s business, Beck’s family, and other women’s safety are all important factors in every decision they make when it comes to JT’s demise.
With the secrets that Bennett reveals in Sugar Rush and that cliffhanger at the end of the story, shit is about to get way more complicated and what that means for Beck and Sela as well as Beck’s business, are all questions that are going to have to wait to be answered in book 3 because Bennett leaves readers with one hell of a head rush and figuring out what the hell happens now is not easily achieved.
Bennett has left us with two enormous plot twists that even though readers may have seen them coming, they can’t begin to figure out what Beck and Sela’s next move is because only Sawyer Bennett is privy to the characters’ thoughts and actions, meaning we’re in for one hell of an ending to this addicting series!
