Screw him and his perfect stats.

Sinful smirk.

Delicious body.

Lincoln Landry probably even has game-winning stamina.

I’d like to screw her and her perfect ass.

Dangerous curves.

Sweet smile.

Danielle Ashley probably even has a game-changing personality.

There’s no denying the chemistry between them. It’s so fiery, it’s undeniable. They partake in it. Enjoy it.

They really enjoy it.

Attraction is not a problem. Nor is their banter, relationship status, or habits. That’s all fine. Perfect, actually.

The problem is as tangled up as their sheets.

A STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA Today Bestselling author Adriana Locke.

There’s just something about an alpha male who owns who he is and uses his cockiness in endearing ways. Lincoln’s personality expands and adjusts to what’s occurring in his life, and when he wants something, there’s no stopping his tenacious maneuvers because he refuses to strike out on the baseball diamond as well as in the game of life.

I absolutely adored Lincoln! He’s confident, talented, and wealthy due to his baseball career, but he’s also sweet, sincere, and funny. Even though there was an instant attraction between Lincoln and Danielle, what I love the most about the storyline is that Lincoln wanted to change his lifestyle before he met her. He was done with the one-night stands, partying, and living it up. He wants more from his life, especially with the fate of his baseball career in limbo. And now, he wants his future to include Danielle because she doesn’t fall to his every whim; she makes him work for everything she gives him and that’s exactly the kind of woman Lincoln needs, but Danielle has to be willing to step up to the plate and make a risky move that could hurt her but also give her a sense of family that she’s never had.

Adriana Locke writes Danielle’s character in such a way that makes it clear why Danielle chooses to place professional athletes, especially baseball players, in her no-fly zone. There’s a lot of pain and neglect in her past due to her father’s love of the game, which always put her last in the minds of both her mother and father. Even though I understood why Danielle decided to play her love life safe, I have to admit that once she meets Lincoln and their attraction draws them to each other, I had hoped that Lincoln’s actions and words would have allowed her to truly see that Lincoln is more than a game she loathes and more than a player when it comes to his life and those he chooses to have in it. Danielle frustrated me at times because she lumps Lincoln into a category with her father despite everything Lincoln has done to prove otherwise. She’s her own worst enemy and if she doesn’t allow herself to take that risk with Lincoln, she may miss out on the best thing that ever happened to her in one delicious package;)

Swing is a sweet and sexy sports romance that illustrates some of the negative aspects of being a professional athlete and the costs that can occur from loving the game too much. Lincoln is one hell of a hot and dirty hero who knows how to slide into home extremely well and he also knows what to do when the count is full and there’s only one more shot at success. The dynamics of Lincoln and Danielle’s relationship works well with their witty banter and passionate exchanges; Lincoln proves time and time again that he’s more than a ball player and he can be everything Danielle wants if she would only acknowledge their connection and the fact that what’s between them is so much more than fun.

I definitely suffered from the Landry effect after reading Lincoln and Danielle’s story! In fact, the Landry charm seems to resonate off of each member of the family and those who become a part of it as well. There’s never a dull moment when the Landry siblings get together and I can’t wait to see what woman knocks the next Landry brother on his butt!

4.5 Poison Apples

Why they call it a farmhouse is beyond me. That word paints an image of a little white house with a chicken coop. This is a Southern plantation. A huge, wide porch with pillars looks to encompass the entire place. Mums line whiskey barrels and give the clean exterior pops of burgundy, orange, and yellow. It’s breathtaking.

“This is gorgeous,” I breathe as it comes into full view. “Not what I expected.”

“This is my second favorite place in the world,” he whispers against my ear.

“Second? What could be more perfect that this?”

“Inside you.”

Before he can pull away, I turn my face so my lips capture his. He deepens the kiss, our lips working against one another in perfect harmony. As we pull away, breathless, he grins. “Thank you for coming.”

“I’ll ensure you come later,” I promise.

“Naughty girl,” he chuckles as the car rolls to a stop. “I like it.”

“You will.”
