Synopsis

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Probst comes a new story in her Marriage to a Billionaire series. The Book of Spells returns in this sparkling addition to the series!

She had run from her demons…

Caterina Victoria Windsor fled her family winery after a humiliating broken engagement, and spent the past year in Italy rebuilding her world. But when Ripley Savage shows up with a plan to bring her back home, and an outrageous demand for her to marry him, she has no choice but to return to face her past. But when simple attraction begins to run deeper, Cat has to decide if she’s strong enough to trust again…and strong enough to stay…

He vowed to bring her back home to be his wife…

Rip Savage saved Windsor Winery, but the only way to make it truly his is to marry into the family. He’s not about to walk away from the only thing he’s ever wanted, even if he has to tame the spoiled brat who left her legacy and her father behind without a care. When he convinces her to agree to a marriage arrangement and return home, he never counted on the fierce sexual attraction between them to grow into something more. But when deeper emotions emerge, Rip has to fight for something he wants even more than Winsor Winery: his future wife.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Review

Since the first love spell was cast and Jennifer Probst introduced readers to an entire series devoted to the many perplexing ways a marriage can be arranged, Probst has taken us on spellbinding journeys – some set as far away as Italy and others in less foreign but, nonetheless, just as beautiful.

And, in her 1001 Dark Nights novella, The Marriage Arrangement, Probst brings two rather untrusting people together and makes them fight for their happily ever after, even when lies are told, because when it comes down to it, Ripley Savage and Caterina Windsor are an incredible team and amazing partners; Rip just now needs to prove to Cat that what started out as a business plan to secure his future quickly becomes a relationship that he never knew he wanted and now doesn’t want to live without…

You Are Enough!

That’s the overarching lesson that is taught through Rip and Cat’s story. Both of them were betrayed and/or put down by the people who were suppose to love them most and that has scarred them in what seems to be irreparable ways, but then what happens when Rip and Cat begin to explore their feelings for one another, they begin to feel they’re deserving of each other’s love, but the false pretenses that drove Rip to seek Cat out in Italy is something that could quite possibly destroy any hope he has getting the Winery and the girl.

It’s difficult for Rip get past not feeling good enough and feeling like he’s not a man who can be or is loved, so the original plan he constructs to get what he wants is absolutely cold and calculated but it also illustrates just how much Rip’s past has affected him, so, in some ways, I can’t blame Rip for wanting to hold onto something tangible in a world where he truly doesn’t have someone to hold onto; it doesn’t mean I condone his actions…I just understand why he goes about things the way that he does.

I really enjoyed Rip and Cat’s story; there is just something about the Italy setting that makes it the perfect spot for love, especially when Mama Conte is there to work some of her own magic;) I loved the insights about running a winery and all that it entails and I liked that neither Rip nor Cat are what they expected each other to be because it allows new expectations to develop and then grow, which is what makes a relationship last.
