He saw her from across a crowded ballpark and knew she was about to change his life.
Yes, he realizes just how cliché that really is, but the moment his eyes locked on her, he knew that she was the one.
At least, the one that royally screwed him over. The one responsible for his demotion and the subsequent disciplinary action taken against him before he’d even gotten out of the probationary period with Kilgore Police Department.
It all started with a kiss.

Saylor Rae Spada tried to mind her business. She also tried to not get involved in petty disputes.
However, from the moment she saw him sitting next to her at a professional baseball game, a game she didn’t even want to be at but was dragged to by her blind date, she couldn’t look away.
Then the kiss cam came on, featuring none other than her and the handsome stranger.
Without missing a beat, he kissed her.
Then her blind date decided to pull a knife and try to stab him.
From that point forward, she’s done nothing but cause him trouble.
Trouble that he’s starting to find increasingly adorable.

Lani Lynn Vale’s female leads are some of my absolute favorite heroines because they are as temperamental, stubborn, and tell it like it is as they can get, which means that their families as well as their friends and most definitely the men in their lives are probably going to be exposed to a whole lot of recklessness, chaos, and sass in copious amounts, but that’s what makes these leading ladies everything their heroes want and need, even if they don’t know it a first…
Saylor is definitely up at the top of my list of favorite Vale’s heroines, and I think it’s because she embraces her uniqueness and stays true to who she is regardless of what others want her to be. I’m all about sarcastic and intelligent characters and Saylor illustrates her witty ways on several occasions throughout the story.
Lock is all kinds of alpha male goodness and while his first interaction with Saylor gets him in a whole lot of trouble, professionally and then personally because he can get her off of his mind, it’s clear from the onset that whatever is building just beneath the surface between these two deserves a chance, especially when Lock finds out just how connected they are and figures out that Saylor’s irresistible curves, confectionary creations, and a mouth that doesn’t stop pulling him further into everything that she is and everything they can be together.
Winners Are Sinners is a great addition to Vale’s KPD Motorcycle Patrol series. I love the family feel of it and the fact that readers get to catch up with some favorites of past books makes everything that much better.
