A player’s face flashed up on the Jumbotron. He was wearing a helmet, but I froze when he smiled.
You guessed it: Dimples.
Apparently, my fake blind date hadn’t invited me to watch hockey with him, he’d invited me to watch him play.
And so began my adventure with Max Yearwood.
He was everything I needed at the time—fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months since he’d signed with a new team three-thousand miles away.
Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right?

My Review
I love me a stellar meet-cute, and Vi Keeland’s newest release has the perfect start to Georgia and Max’s story. And I would definitely not mind a guy like Max Yearwood stepping in and pretending to be my blind date as well as working overtime to give me a summer to remember…it also doesn’t hurt that he’s totally swoon worthy and willing to woo and prove to Georgia just how amazing she is.
Georgia’s thoughts and feelings about dating again, about putting herself out there, about going through another heartbreak and investing in something that might not workout will resonate with readers. And while there were times I wanted her to have a bit more inner strength and say what needed to be said and act instead of overthinking, Max helps her to be freer, to focus on her wants and needs and to have fun, which seemed to be missing in her life.
Like many of Keeland’s other story lines, there are some unexpected twists along the way to the hero and heroine’s happy ever after and the angst, at times, made me want to lash out in some way, but in the end it’s what had to be done for the reality of what they could be and mean to each other to happen.
