COVER REVEAL AND GIVEAWAY: CRAVE by Adriana Locke

Who is ready to meet Machlan Gibson?

This STANDALONE novel in the Gibson Boys Series from USA Today Bestseller Adriana Locke will be coming to your Kindle soon. We don’t have a firm release date yet, but we’re hearing it should be the first of August. (Is it the first of August yet?)

What does Adriana have in store for us in Crave?

Synopsis

Hadley Jacobs is over Machlan Gibson.

Sure, she’ll always be a little weak to the dimple in his right cheek and the way his five o’clock shadow makes him ruggedly handsome. But that’s not enough to cover every other thing about him because they all drive her nuts. Like how he’s won’t admit he’s wrong even when he knows it and how he drives his stupid car a million miles an hour on wet asphalt. As she rolls back into town and takes a seat at Crave, she won’t take the bait. She’s over him. Mostly.

Machlan isn’t over her.

It’s not because he hasn’t tried. He reminds himself over and over that she’s not the girl for him. After all, she drives him insane with her sassy attitude and the way she calls him out on everything. She beats him at poker, even though she doesn’t know the difference between a straight and a flush, and when she looks at him with her bright, blue eyes, it’s unnerving. When she climbs onto that bar stool and orders a drink, he puts it in front of her and ignores the sparkle in her eyes.  He’s not over her, but she won’t know that.

But she does know that. And he knows she’s not as over him as she’s pretending to be. When life forces their hand this time, there’s more on the line than a pile of poker chips. It’s their forever.

RELEASE REVIEW: AIN’T DOIN’ IT by Lani Lynn Vale

Title: AIN’T DOIN’ IT
Series: Simple Man
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release: July 6, 2018

About AIN’T DOIN’ IT

Coke Solomon has lived a full life.

He’s a retired army drill sergeant, so he is more than used to getting his way.

And if he can’t have his way?
Well, let’s just say that’s never happened before…

At least not until Cora Maldonado walks into his life, demanding he fall in line, or she’ll find a way to make his life hell.

He finds out fast that Cora marches to the beat of her own drum, and a lot of times that drum takes her farther away rather than closer to where he feels she needs to be.

He can’t stand it.

He wants her, and he has to have her.

It doesn’t matter what she’s twenty years younger than him, and has a father that would rather see him dead than have his baby girl anywhere near him. Nor does it matter that his ex-wife is highly offended that she’s been replaced with a much younger woman.

Despite the odds stacking against them, he’ll fight for what he wants.
His ex-wife, her father, and their age difference be damned.

My Review

I’m not sure if it’s the English teacher in me or if it’s the fact that each book in Lani Lynn Vale’s Simple Man series has a complex storyline that takes readers on one hell of a ride, but what’s clear is that there is nothing simple about any of the stories in this series; in fact, the title’s ironic meaning is beyond exemplified in each story because readers don’t know what they’re getting themselves into when they start one of these books, and let me tell you, Lani Lynn Vale may have just created one of the craziest female antagonists I’ve read in a long time in her newest release, Ain’t Doin’ It because Coke’s ex-wife is beyond cray cray and by the time Coke and Cora’s story ends, there’s not a doubt in my mind that Coke was so much better off when he got rid of that demented and despicable woman.

In Get You Some, readers were introduced to Coke, and we couldn’t help but instantly have a man crush on him due to the way he gave June a chance with no questions asked and also due to the strong bond he has with his daughter. So the fact that Lani Lynn Vale was going to allow her readers to get to know this growly former Drill Sergeant on a deeper level as well as witness him get a chance to find happiness and love with a woman who deserved him was just what we wanted, and I have to say that Vale picked the perfect woman to make Coke believe in love again and take a chance even after he tried his hardest to not give into his feelings.

Out of all of Lani Lynn Vale’s heroine that I’ve been introduced to, Cora Maldonado is probably the one I relate to the most. I see so much of myself in her character; she’s not a people person; she’s beyond introverted, and her sense of self is not the best because she’s constantly unsure of herself and her abilities. Cora gets stuck in her head a lot, and she feels like not many people understand her need to not go outside of her comfort zone because her awkwardness and discomfort exponentially grow when her surroundings are unfamiliar. But Cora is also an extremely strong person. She’s passionate, creative, and one heck of a cartoonist, so while she struggles in certain aspects of her life, her other amazing characteristics make her absolutely worth of love and every positive thing that comes with it.

A lot of out of control situations occur in Ain’t Doin’ It, but with the men and women who Coke and Cora have at their backs, it’s clear that they’ll make it through whatever they encounter because any other outcome is unacceptable.

While some readers may take issue with the age gap between Coke and Cora, it’s clear that Cora doesn’t mesh well with men of her own age; she’s an old soul, which makes Coke perfect for her because he easily reads her moods and knows what she needs and his knowledge about life and the hard lessons he’s learned help them to traverse through the difficulties they encounter along the way to their happily ever now/after.

Excerpt

Samantha

Standing in front of the full-length mirror in my room, I smooth down my black skirt. My blond hair is tied up in a ponytail, my cheeks are sunken in more than normal, and the blackness around my eyes indicates I haven’t slept well since this whole thing happened. Since I found out that not only did my husband die, but that he also married someone else.

I sit on the made bed and look down at my wedding band. My thumb of my right hand touches it, and the lone tear that falls out of my eye lands straight on it. “Mommy.” I look back at Lizzie, who is standing in the doorway wearing a black one-piece dress similar to mine with ballerina flats.

My mother-in-law went shopping yesterday and bought us all new outfits for today. “We need to put our best foot forward,” she said as I watched her walk in with the six bags. “We can’t let people talk.”

I turned around and walked out of the room, going upstairs. Shutting myself in my bathroom with my back against the door, I cried quietly, trying to hide my sobs. “We can’t let people talk,” I whispered to myself. The hatred I had begun feeling when I remembered my husband.

Lizzie walks to the side of my bed and sits next to me. “I hate this dress,” she says when I put my hand around her shoulder and bring her to me, kissing her head.

“I know, baby,” I whisper, “but after today, it’s going to be all over.”

“That’s what Grandpa A said.” She mentions the name she calls my father-in-law. Grandpa A because you can’t get better than an A.

“Is everyone ready?” I hear Ethan yell from downstairs. “The limo is picking us up in twenty.”

“Let’s go, baby,” I tell her, getting up and holding her hand while we walk downstairs. My in-laws are both sitting in the kitchen. My mother-in-law in a black skirt and top while my father-in-law has on a black suit. “Where is Daisy?” I ask them.

“Elliot is upstairs changing her. She spilled milk on her dress,” Judy tells me, looking at Lizzie. “You look like such a big girl.” She blinks her tears away.

Elliot comes down the stairs with Daisy on his hip, smiling at me when he walks in. “Okay, you girls go sit in the living room while us grown-ups talk,” my father-in-law says, and the girls both know to leave the room. When he knows they are both out of earshot, he starts. “Today is going to be tough, tough for us all, but we have to stand together. We have to be the family that we are.” I lean against the counter while he talks. “The situation with the other one has been taken care of, and she has been served papers.” I look at him and then at Elliot and Ethan, both of them looking down when our eyes meet. It’s almost as if they feel guilty for meeting this woman. My father-in-law continues, “After all this is done today, we are meeting with the lawyers in person, so we can go over the will, start the paperwork for the insurance, and make sure she doesn’t touch a thing that belongs to him.” I stop listening at this point, turning to look out the window at the backyard.

The swing set that he built in one day to make sure the kids could use it when he left the next day. The patio set he had delivered to us, so I could have somewhere to sit while I watched the girls while he was living with another woman. I shake my head, walking out of the room. I sit on the couch, and the girls come to sit next to me, one on each side. “Today is going to be really hard,” I whisper to them, “but we have to be strong for Daddy.” They both look at me, their eyes exactly like their father’s. “But, if at any time, you need to leave or you need me… I don’t care who is talking to me or who is around; you come and get me.”

“Grandpa A said we had to sit and wait,” Daisy whispers just as Elliot comes into the room and kneels in front of us.

“What is this meeting about?” he asks, smiling at us. The circles around his eyes are just as black as ours. He hasn’t left our house since this happened.

“Mommy said if we need her that we can go to her,” Daisy says, looking at him and then me, “even if Grandpa A said no.”

He leans in, whispering, “You can come to me too, and I’ll make sure that you get Mommy.”

“Okay,” Lizzie and Daisy both whisper at the same time, and then the doorbell rings.

We get up, put our jackets on, and one by one file into the black limo that has come to take us to the funeral home. We arrive before everyone else. “We get an hour with him, and then they will open the door,” Adrian says as Judy grabs her tissue and dabs her eyes.

I look around the funeral home. I’m not sure what I’m looking for, not sure where he is. I haven’t seen him since he kissed me goodbye four days earlier. His last words to me were, “Call you when I can.” That phone call never came.

I follow my in-laws to the big brown door that is closed. “I want to go in before the girls.” Everyone turns to look at me.

“We can keep them in the lobby,” says the lady who greeted us at the door. She told me her name, but I just didn’t listen.

I nod at her as she turns to ask the girls if they want hot chocolate. Daisy’s eyes get big as Lizzie turns to look at me. I nod my head, giving her permission, so she can go with the woman.

The doors open, and I don’t even know what to expect. I’ve never been to a funeral. Never known anyone well enough to pay my last respects. Judy and Adrian walk in first, followed by Ethan, and Elliot waits with me. I step foot into the room, and it’s so cold that I shiver. The smell of flowers hits me right away, making me turn my head. The number of flowers and wreaths shocks me; the whole room is almost full. Some wreaths blocking others. Rows and rows of brown chairs line the room, all facing toward the front of the room. My eyes land on the brown wooden casket at the front of the room. The open half showing you the white satin inside. I walk down the aisle toward him, and then my eyes land on him. Eric. I can’t take another step forward because my knees give out, and I fall. Elliot isn’t fast enough to hold me up, and my knee lands with a thud. But the pain doesn’t matter because nothing could take the place of the pain in my heart. The sound of wailing fills the room as I look up at my dead husband.

I feel arms around me; I feel myself lifted; I feel myself almost floating. He isn’t the Eric who kissed me goodbye; he isn’t the Eric who I made promises to; he isn’t the Eric who made all my dreams come true. This isn’t him.

The man with makeup caked on his face isn’t my Eric. My sobs overtake my body as I look at him, expecting him to open his eyes. Expecting something, anything but this. “I want the casket closed,” I say, my voice soft. “I want it closed.”

“Samantha,” my father-in-law starts, “it’s—”

I shake my head. “I don’t want the kids to see him like that,” I say softly. I know that for me they wouldn’t even consider it, but for the girls, they would move heaven and earth. “They need to remember him alive and smiling, not like that,” I say, pointing at the casket.

“Dad,” Ethan says after me, “I agree.”

“Me too,” Elliot says from beside me. “Close it.”

He just nods at us, then walks to the man standing in the corner. The man looks at him as they have a hushed conversation and then just nods his head. “Do you need some water?” Ethan says to me, and I nod. I don’t bother listening to what else he says; instead, I get up and go to the casket. Standing before the brown box, I look at him, really look at him. You see some bruising under the makeup, and his nose is a little swollen. His hands are folded over his stomach, resting on his black suit. The suit he wore when we got married. Why? I ask him in my own head. Why did you do it? I ask him, hoping I can hear him whisper something to me, whisper anything back. To answer my questions, to give me something; anything to make me understand why he did what he did. Why he left me with so many fucking questions and not one answer.

The man comes over to close the casket. Eric’s face disappears slowly, the shadow filling his face till the casket finally shuts. “I’m sorry for your loss,” the man says, nodding at me. “If at any time you want it open, we can open it back up.” I turn around now, looking at the chairs that will fill up as soon as the people start coming in. Ethan consoles my mother-in-law, and Elliot stands where we were just sitting, his hands in his pockets.

“I’m getting the girls,” I tell them and then walk out with my head held high but my shoulders slumped. Defeated is a word that you use so many times not really understanding what can actually defeat you. I know now, my husband dying, him cheating on me, my kids without a father, my dreams of growing old with him gone. Beaten straight down to my core, straight down to my bones.

I walk over to them as they look up. “Let’s go, girls,” I tell them as they both get up and walk to me. Lizzie takes one hand, Daisy takes the other, and we walk back into the room that holds a piece of our hearts. The room where their father lies, with no answers and no tomorrow.

We stand in that room for four hours while people come up to me and give me their condolences. I nod my head and play the part of the grieving wife. I am the grieving wife, but I’m also the wife whose husband didn’t love her enough to just be with her. The wife who knew her husband was slipping away but couldn’t catch it in time. The wife he said he would love and protect. The wife who stands here between his girls wishing that for one second he suffered horribly. The wife who has to pick up the fucking pieces and lie to her girls about what a great guy he was. The wife who, at the end of the day, just wasn’t good enough.

We listen as people tell us how amazing he was, how much he loved his family, and how much he loved his girls. The whole time, I’m yelling on the inside, ready to stand in the middle of the room, throw my head back, and yell at the top of my lungs. But I don’t do what I want. I don’t tell them what a fraud my husband was. I don’t tell them that it was almost all lies. I don’t tell them that the day he died, they called his other wife and not me. I don’t tell them that I wasn’t the one with him when he died.

I stand here thinking about this other person—his other wife—and wonder how she would handle this. How she would be with my in-laws. Would she just let them control her and do everything for her? Would she want it to be open and weep for him beside the casket instead of standing next to it?

I look around the room at all the people who came to pay their respects, and my eyes find someone I’ve never met before. Someone I’ve never seen before, and our eyes connect. His green eyes stare into mine as I watch him nod to me and turn to walk out. As he walks out of the crowded room, I strain my neck to watch his back. I don’t have long to think because Elliot comes up and whispers, “It’s time.

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…

M. Malone

NYT & USA Today bestselling author M. Malone lives in the Washington, DC metro area with her husband and their two sons. She holds a master’s degree in Business from a prestigious college that would no doubt be scandalized by how she’s using her expensive education.

Independently published, she has sold more than 1/2 million ebooks in her two series, THE ALEXANDERS and BLUE-COLLAR BILLIONAIRES. Since starting her indie journey in 2011 with the runaway bestselling novella “Teasing Trent,” her work has appeared on the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists more than a dozen times.

She’s now a full-time writer and spends 99.8% of her time in her pajamas.

Nana Malone

USA Today bestselling author Nana Malone’s love of all things romance and adventure started with a tattered romantic suspense novel she “borrowed” from her cousin.

It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She’s been in love with kick-butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination constantly channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

While she waits for her chance at a job as a ninja assassin, Nana works out her drama, passion and sass with fictional characters every bit as brazen and kick-butt as she thinks she is.

COVER REVEAL: BURN IN YOUR BLOOD by Lili St. Germain

Sometimes, we lose ourselves in the devastation of love.

But sometimes, we find ourselves there, too.

ROME

Avery Capulet. The forbidden fruit. The apple of her Daddy’s eye. The newly-minted Queen of California’s criminal underworld. And now, the missing girl nobody can find.

I know where she is, though. Kneeling before me with her mouth on the end of my cock, tears spilling from her eyes as the last bit of her dignity bleeds from her. I don’t want the pound of flesh that the girl who betrayed me delivers, but I don’t have a choice.

Avery Capulet. Moaning underneath me, as pain merges with pleasure, skin to skin as we do what we can to survive. In the dark, in the wild, we’re like animals. I try not to love her. I try so damn hard. But the war waged inside my heart was won a long time ago, by a girl who should have known better than to trust a man like me.

AVERY

Rome Montague. The boy from my past. The man in my nightmares. The dark, secret lover who makes me feel things I never knew I could feel.

Love and pain can both drive you insane. I fight, and I fight, until all I can do is surrender. Be pulled under. Submit, until I barely recognise myself.

Rome Montague. When he looks at me, I forget the lies that destroyed our past. When he makes me come apart underneath his touch, I forget where we are, and that a faceless enemy pulls our strings like marionettes.

The outside world beckons bright, teasing us with mirages of safety and respite.

But the light of day is a cruel lie.

Because once we find a way out of the dark, we both realize that our nightmare has only just begun.

REVIEW TOUR: THE DOWNSIDE OF LOVE by Meghan Quinn

Blurb

This isn’t a story about a love triangle. There is no triangle involved.

This isn’t a story about an accidental pregnancy. Although having a baby with her . . . I would.

This isn’t a story about lies and deception, even though at times I’ve lied to myself.

No, this is my story.

A story about sacrifice.

A story about a man who fell in love with the wrong girl.

A story I wish I never had to tell.

This is a story about the true meaning of the downside of love.

My Review

At the end of The Upside of Falling, I truly didn’t know how to feel…in some ways, I understood all that went down and why everything had to end up the way it did, but because I felt like there was more story to tell…more insight needed for a number of characters, I couldn’t truly deal with what happened and what it meant for the characters I have watched struggle and fight for their dreams but while doing so finding that they couldn’t have everything that they’ve dreamt of having.

So, heading into The Downside of Love, I knew Meghan Quinn was going to take me down a tumultuous road – one that may not have the ending that I wanted…that I was desperate for as I finished book one, but after finishing book two, I can wholeheartedly say that the conclusion of this emotional duet gave these amazing characters the futures they deserved…the freedom they had always desired and regardless of the sins or the mistakes that were made to get to this resolution, all the highs and lows and ups and downs that these characters experienced happened for a reason and with the flashbacks and present time situations that are explored in The Downside of Love, it’s made beyond clear which characters are tied to the sky and which ones are tied to land, understanding that their clipped wings are exactly what they needed to fly in the way their heart truly desired.

I’ll be honest…Rory was a point of contention for me several times throughout this duet; I struggled with her selfless persona because in some ways, I felt she was selfish, making decisions that were purely for her needs, and I can’t say that I fault her for all of them, but the outcome of some of her actions and reactions  destroyed other characters and even though my head tended to understand the reasons behind everything that occurs, my heart was decimated, and I wanted to rage at Rory for choices that cost people so much.

But, in my frustrations over Rory what I also realized was that this was the kind of story that would illicit complicated and conflicting reactions because it doesn’t have a clean path to the resolution. It’s messy…it’s unhinged…it’s unpredictable. It’s not a dreamy love story; it’s raw and realistic because as feelings change and lives adjust directions, lives are altered and there’s nothing easy about that.

The Blue Line Duet is an angsty, heartbreaking, transformative, and consuming pair of books; it had my emotions all over the place, and even though there were times I wanted to throw my iPad and maybe even send the author a few disgruntled personal messages, I forced myself to let Meghan Quinn’s words, character development, and storytelling guide me down the path she wanted me to take with this group of people who bring her vision to life, and I respected that and even though it hurt sometimes to do so, I never doubted that Quinn would lead me to an ending that may not have been what I wanted, but it was what was meant to be because Quinn’s characters demanded their story being told this way.

Tucked away at the base of the Rocky Mountains lived a little boy with one singular dream: leave this broken and battered home and become someone.

Be somebody’s hero.

That boy was me—Colby Brooks. Except I’m not that same little boy anymore.

My dreams might still be the same, but my reality isn’t.

I’m smarter. Stronger. A man.

And I learned a long damn time ago, the only way to achieve my dreams was to avoid distractions—at any cost.

Focus. Resolve. Determination.

But all it took was one single night. One night and my entire life…changed.

One night had me colliding head first with the biggest distraction of my life; Rory Oaks.

Smart. Charming. Beautiful.

Rory changed everything.

Quickly, my one-track mind started to bend.

Each kiss faded decade-long dreams.

And with one single incident, I fly off course.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.

Blurb

Vivian Fitzpatrick is a big dreams girl stuck in a small town.

She likes her job, and she adores her friends, but there’s a tiny part of her that still wants adventure. Wants all the unfulfilled dreams to come true. She still wants to base jump and skydive and do everything her ex-boyfriend said she was too chicken-shit to do.

Which is probably how she ends up moonlighting for a phone sex line.

Matteo Soto is just trying to figure out how to live again.

A bomb in Iraq left half his unit dead, and Matteo broken. He puts on a good act–the rookie at RCPD, taking care of his dead best friend’s family. But it feels too much like going through the motions, too much like marking time.

He needs a reason to get up in the morning.

She needs to feel alive.

Taite is snarling when she stalks in with my lunch a few hours later, and I eye her warily. No one has gotten shot or run into a burning building, so— “Gomez pissing you off?”

She bares her teeth at me, and I smile.

“I know your daddy taught you to play nice with others,” I tease.

“Dad hated getting new partners,” she scoffs.

I laugh, a throaty thing. “It’s only for the day, Tay. You can handle one day away from Miguel.”

She gives me a skeptical look. “Last time he was away for a day, he ended up a hostage in that bank robbery on Fifth, remember?”

I wince. She’s not wrong.

“That was a complete misunderstanding,” Miguel whines, coming over to loop an arm around Taite’s shoulders. She relaxes a little, leaning into him briefly before she elbows him in the gut. “And Crispin was a very nice bank robber.”

“We need to have another talk about befriending perps,” Taite mutters.

I laugh and look up—

And freeze. In the doorway stands a man, tall with dark hair and piercing green eyes. His half smile looks a little confused as he watched Miguel and Taite.

“Oh! Vivi, this is our new officer, Matteo Soto. Matteo, this is Vivian Fitzpatrick, our dispatcher and all around goddess. If there’s anything you need to know, she’s the best person to ask,” Miguel says, beaming at me.

“She’s also brilliant—so don’t play cards with her—and fun as hell, so definitely drink with her,” Taite adds with a smirk.

I point a red fingertip at her and narrow my eyes. “You behave. Don’t scare away fresh meat.”

Matteo laughs, and it’s husky and warm, stroking down my spine and making me want to purr.

“I like calculated risks,” he says, grinning at me.

Everything I had been raised to believe is a lie.

Prayer became the voice of dishonesty.
Manipulation was disguised as faith.
Abuse was masquerading as devotion.

And the man I worshipped as a leader, as a father, has been revealed to be a monster.

The only choice I have is to run.

To leave The Gathering of the Sun behind me and try to build a new life in a world I have been told is full of evil and corruption. A world that will destroy me.

Love will be my guide. Bastian will help me search for the girl I could have been. The girl who was erased by the people claiming to be my family.

Excerpt

“What happened?” Dropping the backpack on the bed, I rush toward him. “Do we have to—”

He catches my face between his big, rough palms and slants his lips across mine in a hard, violently hungry kiss. We didn’t make love last night—I passed out early from jet lag and Peter considerately let me sleep—and I can taste the pent-up lust in this kiss, the dark fire that always burns between us.

Backing me up against the bed, Peter tears off my clothes, then his own, and then, with no preliminaries, he thrusts into me, stretching me with his thickness, battering me with his hard heat. I cry out at the shock of it, but he doesn’t stop, doesn’t slow down. His eyes glitter fiercely as he stretches my arms above my head, his hands shackling my wrists, and I realize it’s something more than lust driving him today, something savage and desperate.

My body’s response is swift and sudden, like oil catching fire. One minute, I’m gritting my teeth at the merciless force of his thrusts, and the next, I’m hurtling over the edge and screaming as I splinter in brutal ecstasy. There’s no relief in this orgasm, only a lessening of impossible tension, but even that doesn’t last. The second peak, as violent as the first, comes right on its heels, and I cry out at the agonizing spasms, the pleasure ripping me apart as he drives into me, over and over again, riding me through the climax and beyond.

I don’t know how long Peter fucks me like that, but by the time he comes, spurting burning-hot seed inside me, my throat is raw from screaming and I’ve lost count of how many orgasms he’s wrung out from my battered body. The hard muscles of his chest gleam with sweat as he withdraws from me, and I lie there panting, too dazed and exhausted to move.

He leaves, then returns a few moments later with a wet towel, which he uses to pat at the wetness between my legs. “Sara…” His voice is rough, thick with emotion as he leans over me to brush a strand of hair off my sweat-dampened forehead. “Ptichka, I—”

A hard knock on the door jolts us both.

“Peter.” It’s Yan, his voice as sharp as earlier this morning. “You need to hear this. Now.”

Swearing under his breath, Peter jumps off the bed, finds his discarded jeans in the pile of clothes on the floor, and pulls them on without bothering with underwear. The look he gives me over his shoulder is fierce, almost angry, but he doesn’t say anything as he strides out of the room.

I sit up, wincing at the soreness between my thighs, and force myself to get up and take another quick rinse before getting dressed again.

I have no idea what’s going on, but I’m getting an awful premonition.

Double Full

Up and coming football hero, Colt Michaels, makes a Hail Mary pass one night in the college locker room that results in the hottest, sexiest five days of his young life. However, interference after the play has him hiding his past and burying his future in the bottom of a bottle. While Colt seems to have it all, looks can be deceiving especially when you’re trapped so far in a closet that you can’t see your way out.

Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. When he learns some upsetting news about his ex-lover, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?

Full Disclosure

Deputy United States Marshal Mitch Knox apprehends fugitives for a living. His calm, cool, collected attitude and devastatingly handsome good looks earn him a well-deserved bad boy reputation, both in the field and out. While away on an assignment, he blows off some steam at a notorious Dallas nightclub. Solving the case that has plagued him for months takes a sudden backseat to finding out all there is to know about the gorgeous, shy blond sitting alone at the bar.

Texas State Trooper Cody Turner dreams of being a Texas Ranger, and he’s moving up the ranks, well on his way to making it happen. But for the next two-weeks, he’s on vacation, and his plans include relaxing and helping out on his family’s farm. The last distraction he needs is a tatted-up temptation who walks into the bar and steals his baseball cap.

As Mitch’s case gains nationwide attention, how will he convince the sexy state trooper that giving him a chance won’t jeopardize his life’s plan…especially when the evil he’s tracking brings the hate directly to his doorstep, threatening more than just their careers?

Honor, integrity, and loyalty are how Deputy US Marshal Kreed Sinacola lives his life. A former SEAL now employed by the Special Operations Group of the US Marshal Service, Kreed spends most of his life working covert operations…and avoiding relationships. But his boundaries blur and his convictions are put to the test when he finally comes face-to-face with the hot computer geek he’s been partnered with.

Aaron Stuart strives for one thing: justice. Young and full of idealism, his highly sought after computer skills land him a position with the National Security Agency. Aaron’s biggest hazard at his job is cramped fingers, but all that changes when he’s drawn into the middle of a dangerous federal investigation. And his attraction to his new inked up, dark-haired partner provides another kind of threat altogether. While Aaron tries desperately to place a firewall around his heart and fight his developing feelings, one misstep on his part could ultimately destroy him.

The solution isn’t as easy as solving the case, which is treacherous enough as it is. But the growing sexual attraction between them threatens to derail more than just Kreed’s personal convictions as he quickly learns temptation and matters of the heart rarely fit easily into the rules he’s lived by. Will Kreed be able to convince Aaron to open his heart and face the fact that sometimes the answers aren’t always hidden in code?

Kindle Alexander’s Nice Guys series is one of the first sets of M/M books that I ever read, so in a way, this series began my love and passion for M/M reads, and to this day, I have adored EVERY SINGLE one of Kindle Alexander stories.

So when I saw that a Nice Guys Collection was being released with over 30 K in bonus content, a re-read was in order, and let me tell you, my love for Alexander’s men hasn’t changed and the new insights readers get into the lives of these swoon worthy couples is EVERYTHING because the new scenes Alexander chose to write for each pair of men provides further examples of why I can’t get enough of them or Alexander’s writing!

Double Full Review

Double Full is a story of two men who can’t help but want and love each other despite all of the obstacles, mitigating factors, and doubts that plague them as their 5 day love affair redefines their lives but also breaks their hearts and sends them down extremely isolated and lonely paths until they find a way to make things right, even if that means the rest of their lives become tenuous and out of control.

It’s clear from their very first encounter that Colton Michaels and Jace Montgomery own each other’s bodies but more importantly their hearts, and in the five glorious days that they spend together getting to know everything they can about each other, there’s no doubt that the love they feel is not something that will dissipate regardless of Colt’s father’s threats and mistreatment or Colt’s devastating decision to cast Jace from his life.

Colt takes the necessary steps in order to protect Jace in the only way he knows how, and despite the heartbreaking repercussions that send both of them spiraling, Colt didn’t feel he had any other choice, and it’s his suffering that makes me unable to fault him for the pain he caused because he was just as negatively affected as Jace, and I think, in some ways, Colt suffered even more than Jace did because Colt didn’t have any support; in fact, all Colt had was a group of blackmailers and leeches – people who only cared about Colt’s money and fame.

Kindle Alexander meticulously illustrates everything that leads to Colt’s out of control behavior and the heinous and deplorable people who reign over him and then

when Colt finally decides that he can no longer live under other people’s demands, Alexander provides him a means to make amends, not caring about the fallout because Jace makes him happy…makes him feel content…makes her world so much better and Colt is done not having the man he loves in his life.

But just because Colt decides to take back his life doesn’t mean it will be easy because while his priority is to prove himself to Jace, there are a number of factors to deal with and even some that Colt could have never anticipated.

Colt and Jace’s story hurts so good! It will break readers’ hearts and then slowly put them back together as Colt does everything he can to reclaim the man who has always owned him. It amazes me just how easy it is to see and understand the connection these two men have given the fact that they only spent a short amount of time together ten years ago, but the insight that Alexander offers in terms of how they’ve never been too far away from each other’s hearts even though they weren’t physically close demonstrates the kind of love and the kind of bond they have, which makes it beyond clear that Colt and Jace are destined to be together.

4.5 Poison Apples

Full Disclosure Review

After meeting Mitch in Double Full, I knew his book was going to be full of his no bullshit, take charge attitude, and I was not disappointed. But Kindle Alexander also shows a side of Mitch that he rarely lets out and allows very few to see even when it does, and that’s what I loved the most. When Full Disclosure begins, Mitch’s investigation into the string of hate crimes against gays heats up after a Senator’s son is kidnapped and almost killed. Because the case that he fought to get funding for finally gets approval, Mitch is forced to head to Washington DC and work with the FBI in order to find out who’s behind the murders/attempted murders. Mitch is completely on board with putting this case as his number one priority, especially after becoming close friends with one of the victims, Colt Michaels. But Mitch also has Colt to thank for his strong desire to settle down and find someone worth more than a roll in the sack with, and right before he gets called in for the investigation, he meets Cody Turner, a Texas State Trooper, and Mitch feels like he may have finally met the guy to turn his life upside down – in a really sexy and welcoming way. But between the case, the distance, and Cody’s hesitation in starting a relationship with him, Mitch has his work cut out for him. But if there’s one thing readers learned about Mitch in book one and easily saw again at the start of this story, when there’s something he wants to do or have, he’ll stop at nothing to make it happen, regardless of the risk to him personally, and this time around, lives are not the only thing at stake…his heart is also in the equation now.

After reading several of Kindle Alexander’s stories, I have grown to expect dynamic characters and a multifaceted storyline that focuses on all of the drama, passion, suspense, and conflict that exists both in the private and professional lives of the main characters, and that is exactly what readers get in Full Disclosure. There are two stories simultaneously occurring – Mitch’s investigation and Mitch and Cody’s blossoming relationship. Neither is very far from Mitch’s mind, but both are extremely important to him, so he knows he needs to prioritize in order to be at his best. Mitch has a game plan for both situations, which makes him quite the man of action, both in and outside of the bedroom. Mitch is one kickass hero who has never felt more complete than with Cody in his life. I love the fact that there’s barely any drama in their relationship; there’s enough turmoil swirling around Mitch due to the case, so for Cody to center him, even when they aren’t physically together, is exactly what Mitch needs to get the job done.

Full Disclosure is a fantastic play on words for Mitch and Cody’s story. Readers get to witness all of the complexities of Mitch’s full personality both as an agent and as a man falling in love…as reluctant as Cody was to outwardly reveal his homosexual lifestyle, Mitch makes him realize the depth of their feelings for one another, which prompts him to boldly disclose the man he truly is…Mitch’s serial killer finally exposes himself, and as all of the pieces of the case finally reveal themselves, the truth behind the killer’s motives surface.

This is another gem of a read from Kindle Alexander; fantastic storytelling with an abundance of hot guys, steamy scenes, and suspenseful situations. Bring on Kreed and Aaron’s story!

Full Domain Review

Domain ~ a specified sphere of activity or knowledge

For Kreed Sinacola and Aaron Stuart, their skill sets make them valued contributors to the protection of innocents, and while they complete their tasks in much different ways, the end result saves lives and rectifies situations that aren’t meant to occur because of the injustices they represent.

Kreed protects with his US Marshal badge and gun while Aaron protects with a computer and a mathematical and coded mind, and while Aaron may see them as being on opposite ends of the law since Aaron goes somewhat around it in order to solve his cases, when they end up as temporary partners, seeing through the hate crime case that Mitch Knox began, Aaron realizes that there’s way more behind the honor code that Kreed lives by and Aaron might just be the person who can decode who Kreed Sinacola truly is and find a way to give them both what they want.

Integrity and loyalty are two concepts that Kreed knows well; as a Deputy Marshal, he is extremely self-disciplined, knowing that the risks are high and it’s his job to protect the innocent and take down the bad guys, and he’s damn good at his job; in fact, he reads people so well that he anticipates their moves before they make them, making him one hell of a defender of the innocent. Kreed’s not one to mix business with pleasure, but there’s something about Aaron that speaks to him…heals him. Their connection is palpable, but as temporary partners in a high profile case, Kreed does his best to keep things professional between them until his body and emotions overrule his mind, and his desire for Aaron takes control.

When it comes to computers and hacking, there’s no one better than Aaron, and because he’s all about the greater good, he’s thought to be a modern day Robin Hood, crossing ethical lines and breaking a few rules in order to expose the bad guy and make the world better. His attraction to Kreed is just as strong as Kreed’s pull is to him, but Aaron has even more secrets than Kreed, information that Aaron believes the “incorruptible public servant” that Kreed is would not agree with and ultimately be forced to do something, which isn’t something Aaron’s willing to risk…that is, until he can’t fight his need for Kreed and succumbs to its demand.

What transpires is explosive in a number of ways because even after Kreed and Aaron’s undercover case ends, there’s a different situation they need to take care of – one that’s more life changing and more meaningful than the first because it signifies a new beginning for both of them but only if Aaron shows Kreed who he really is and Kreed accepts him regardless of his past.

I absolutely adore Kindle Alexander’s books. I’m a huge M/M reader, and Kindle is one of the reasons that genre is one of my favorites. There’s such depth to Kindle’s story lines and characters, and while there is quite a bit of steam in each of the texts, the sexy scenes are there to illustrate the connection between the heroes and to be the language that they use in order to truly show how they feel when words seem to fail them or scare the hell out of them. In book in Kindle’s Nice Guys series builds upon the previous ones, allowing readers to catch up with their previous favorites as they’re introduced to new ones who are just as sexy and dominating as the others. Since meeting Kreed, I’ve wanted to know everything about him and Full Domain gave me all the insight I craved, leaving me one happy reader!

4.5 Poison Apples

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
