RELEASE BLITZ: Misadventures of a College Girl by Lauren Rowe

Misadventures of a College Girl, an all new standalone romance by Lauren Rowe is NOW AVAILABLE!!

***MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDER***

Straitlaced freshman Zooey Cartwright has arrived at UCLA determined to have a heck of a lot more fun in college than she did in high school. What’s the first item on Zooey’s agenda before classes start in two days? Losing her pesky V card. She’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, so where can Zooey find the right guy to do the deed and move along without a backward glance? At a party thrown by a bunch of football players, of course. Enter Tyler Caldwell. A beast on the field and off, cocky as heck, and often wearing T-shirts with sayings like “God’s Gift to Womankind,” Tyler is most definitely not boyfriend material. After a make-out session with Tyler leaves Zooey entirely unsatisfied, she is determined never to see him again. But her schedule lands her in not one but two of his classes, and it doesn’t take long before Tyler and Zooey have reached an arrangement for Tyler to teach Zooey exactly what she wants to know―and a whole lot more she never bargained for. Can Zooey surrender her body to this bad boy without giving him her heart, too?

Review

Hawkyn finds himself in quite the difficult position in the latest novella from Larissa Ione’s Demonica Underworld series; as a Memitim, it is his duty to protect his Primori, but when that person ends up being a serial killer, hell bent on claiming his only victim who got away, Hawkyn is torn between his obligation and the half-wytch female who makes him yearn for his own piece of heaven here on Earth before he earns his way to the pearly gates.

The dynamics that Hawkyn must contend with due to his precarious situation plays out well throughout the story; it’s clear from their initial interaction that Hawkyn and Aurora are not only physically attracted to one another but fill a void that they never knew they had. The progression of their relationship is at the perfect pace given the circumstances of their first meeting and what’s at stake for both of them as they work together to protect Aurora’s life and figure out how Hawkyn can still accomplish his mission without jeopardizing the woman who has come to mean everything to him.

Hawkyn is quite the complex angel; as Azagoth’s son, he’s completely badass and alpha male to his core, but there’s also another side to him…the one that works hard to gain his entry into heaven, not only for himself, but for his family who means everything to him. His feelings for Aurora are definitely a game changer but what that means for his mission as well as his place in heaven still has to be discovered because even though his course has changed, a bit, it’s clear Hawkyn is torn by honor and duty as well as his newly developed feelings for someone who is supposed to be forbidden.

I would say that what builds between Hawkyn and Aurora is a slow burn of attraction. Trust is a huge issue at the beginning and Aurora has every right to question Hawkyn’s true nature as well as his task when it comes to her and the serial killer he’s supposed to protect. There are an immense amount of obstacles and complications that continually threaten to drive Hawkyn and Aurora apart, so what becomes of their attraction as well as Hawkyn’s decisions when it comes to his Primori and the woman he wants to claim are the very things that play out amidst the pages of this novella.

I’m a huge fan of paranormal romance, but I don’t get a lot of opportunity to read it based on a variety of reasons. So, anytime I can delve into a fantastical world, I always enjoy the journey. Ione has built an amazing world for her supernatural characters to roam and experience in the Demonica Underworld, and she’s done it in a way that allows new readers to understand the setting, its inhabitants and the risks that are involved for all of the characters who have very particular skillsets and objectives when it comes to their time on Earth and their time elsewhere. I’ve read several of the books in the series and each time, I’m struck by how easy it is to visualize the world I’m exploring and who these supernatural beings truly are, and there hasn’t been one story that hasn’t made me want to reenter this world every chance I get.

The best thing about grocery shopping at midnight was that the stores were relatively quiet. As someone sensitive to life-force energy, Aurora Mercer liked that.

But sometimes the lack of activity wasn’t a good thing.

Like now, as she walked her groceries out to her car. Fog common to Portland, Oregon in the fall had rolled in, obscuring everything farther than about forty feet out. She’d parked her dark blue Mercedes close to the building and under a light, but as she opened the rear door she was unnerved to see a black van pull next to her, blocking her faint view of the store-and blocking employee views of her.

The van’s windows were blacked out.

She laughed nervously. It was probably nothing. Serial killers didn’t drive anything so obvious, right?

Right?

Still, she picked up her pace, not caring that she was all but throwing her groceries in the back seat and food was spilling everywhere. She could salvage the cherries on the floor when she got home, and raspberry juice stains on cream leather wouldn’t look that bad.

Not as bad as blood.

She finished and slammed the door closed. But shit…the cart corral was several stalls away. Her heart started racing at the thought of getting that far from her car and the light. Screw it, she could leave the cart here. She hated when people did that, but avoiding death was as good an excuse as any to be lazy.

Hastily she pushed the cart in front of her car, secured it over a concrete tire block-

“Fog’s bad, isn’t it?”

She spun around with a startled yelp. An attractive man, maybe six-four with a

Celtic cross tattoo on his neck, stood between her and her driver side door. How had he gotten there so fast?

Stay calm.

Easier said than done, but she’d give it a shot. “Excuse me,” she said firmly. “I’m in a hurry.”

He didn’t budge. “I’m sure you are.”

As casually as she could, she reached into her purse for her keys and the attached canister of pepper spray, but as she fished around she realized she’d left them on her back seat. Her heart skipped a beat and then pounded so fast and hard she could feel it in her ears.

Deep breaths. You don’t have your pepper spray, but you aren’t weaponless.

The man smiled as if he knew she’d come up empty of pepper spray and was happy about it. “Problem? Something I can help you with?”

“No. Thank you.” She dredged up a smile of her own and prayed it looked genuine and not like she was scared out of her mind. “If you’ll step aside, I’ll just go-”

She broke off as, out of the corner of her eye, she detected movement. Another man-shaped shadow stepped out of the fog behind the van, and her throat constricted with terror.

RELEASE DAY REVIEW: BABY DADDY by Kendall Ryan

A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.

We met in a trapped elevator.

Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.

I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right?

At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting-I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.

After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner-he also insisted on something else-that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.

But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.

This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making ! Enjoy.

Review

Who would have thought that Emmett’s most ‘trusted adviser’ and best friend, his dick, would be what makes him suggest and even persuade Jenna to use his body and most importantly his sperm to ‘get the job done’, the old fashioned way, and give Jenna what she wants – a baby – without the complications or added pressure of there being a father to contend with since Emmett’s only donating his time and his seed to the project until it takes!

Romance readers who love romantic comedies in this trope know right from the start of the story that regardless of how hard the hero and heroine try to keep feelings out of the equation and resolve to stick to their agreed upon and even contracted plan, needs and wants always become a factor because when it comes down to it, people will always want more when it comes to the ‘right’ person, and it’s clear from their initial attraction and the way they are pulled to one another that Emmett and Jenna want each other for more than just their reproductive body parts…NOW, the fun and frustrating part is being a reader who knows where the characters are headed and understanding that it’s the right path for both of them but being forced to wait and see if they’ll smarten up and go after what they truly want before they do irrevocable damage to everything they never knew they wanted.

There is a point of contention when it comes to Emmett and Jenna’s professional lives; both refuse to give any specific insights when it comes to their careers and while readers are perfectly aware of what will happen once that information is discovered, Ryan handles that issue just right because it truly shouldn’t be the thing that drives Emmett and Jenna apart when it’s clear that the bigger concern is their skewed views on settling down and their feelings about being left behind to go it alone, since that’s exactly what they witnessed their parents have to endure.

Kendall Ryan definitely understands what her readers want in a romance; Emmett and Jenna are extremely likable characters who have great chemistry, both in and outside the bedroom, and they truly enjoy spending time together even when they’re not attempting to make a baby.

Emmett and Jenna’s story is a sweet, steamy, and entertaining read that takes a stereotypical ‘baby daddy’ storyline and puts its own spin on it, moving beyond the child at stake and focusing on the fact that these two people who have remained largely single for personal reasons find something in each other that they refuse to let slip through their fingers even if they hit a few bumps along the way to realizing exactly what they’d be giving up if they went their separate ways after the baby deed was done.

Excerpt

Since my sister left Guy, I’ve barely heard from her. However, he’s thrown himself into the restaurant and even won an award for Best Steakhouse in the area. That is exceptionally rare for such a new restaurant. Lately, I’ve noticed there hasbeen a little pep in Guy’s step.

“Hey.” Smiling, I tug on his sleeve playfully.

“Yeah?” He spins around to face me.

“It’s good to have you back.”

“What did you call it? Back to the land of the living.” He smirks, nudging my arm with his elbow.

I laugh. “Yeah.”

With the restaurant flourishing, I’m happy to be busy.

To top everything off, I’ve been feeling this magnetic pull toward Guy. I don’t know. Maybe it’s his British accent, or the way his hair curls at the ends, that makes me want to run myhands through it. Maybe it’s the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles.

Whatever it is, something is there. And I can’t shake it. He’s my brother-in-law. Or my soon to be ex-brother-in-law. It’s so wrong on so many levels. Even if there was a possibility there, he belonged to my sister first. But it’s becoming hard to ignore the nervousness that swirls in my belly and my fast beating heart whenever I’m around him.

Six months ago, my boyfriend of five years finally proposed, and I said yes. That was way before my feelings for Guy shifted. Just being in Guy’s presence is already affecting me in ways that I can’t explain.

Then again, just because I feel a pull to someone, it doesn’t mean I’m in love with him. But my fast beating heart thinks otherwise.

Experience the heartbreakingly beautiful journey of Ollie & Reid in…Remember Me When, the emotional conclusion to The Unforgettable Duet, from Brooke Blaine is now LIVE

My worst nightmare and your greatest fear became a reality:

You don’t remember me.

You don’t remember the accident, or the weeks afterward.

You don’t remember my bed as your safe place,

or when, against all odds, you fell for me.

You remember me only as the casual acquaintance you saw as you grabbed your daily coffee.

Three sugars, two creamers.

Perhaps an acquaintance is all I’ll ever be to you now.

Maybe I can shoulder the heartbreak and the loss of you, if it means you’ll be happy.

Unless…

You remember me when.

Review

If Ollie could give his truths to Reid, I feel like these would be some of them:

-Remember me when…I pulled you out of your car.

-Remember me when…we formed a friendship that helped to heal your scars.

-Remember me when…we longed to experience EVERYTHING with each other.

-Remember me when…I became vital to your life and happiness.

-Remember Me When and Then Come Back to Me because my life will never be whole           until you realize just how much we’re meant to be together.

At the end of Forget Me Not, like most readers, I was gutted by the circumstances that Reid and Oliver found themselves in and I truly didn’t know if they would be able to recapture what was unwillingly taken away from them, especially given Reid’s family and their understanding of who Reid is/was before the accident.

My heart bled for Ollie and the reality that his time with Reid seemed to be over before it ever really got started. I have no idea how he dealt with going from being one of the most essential people to Reid to becoming a practical stranger due to Reid’s lost memories. I swear Ollie should be sainted for what he endured at the beginning of Remember Me When because he handled Reid’s memory loss, Reid’s frustrations, and Reid’s off-kilter moments with grace and patience, which not many men would be able to do, especially given how much Ollie still needs and wants the man who holds his heart.

Brooke Blaine didn’t make readers wait too long to find out if Reid and Ollie would find their way back to one another, and even though the second book in the duet is quite short, the way Blaine lays out the story line, offering both characters’ perspectives proves just how connected Reid and Ollie are even when Reid couldn’t remember how vital Ollie was/is to not only his life but his recovery as well.

Ollie took quite a few risks throughout Remember Me When and that’s a testament to the kind of man he is and the depth of his feelings for Reid; revealing the truth could have done way more harm than good, but Ollie understood what was at stake and he refused to bury the reality of who Reid is to him and what kind of life they shared.

Blaine allowed Reid’s memories to gain clarity at the perfect pace; his recollections had been toyed with due to the surgery, making it difficult to ascertain what is real versus only a dream. Ollie’s presence was always there in the back of Reid’s mind; he just needed to follow his own course of healing and realize the reasons why he found comfort in this big burly guy who somehow infiltrated his life and made him whole when his body was so broken.

The conclusion to Ollie and Reid’s story was everything I wanted and needed it to be. I knew that they would struggle and that Reid would need to do quite a bit of soul searching to realize why Ollie became his person, but I also knew that with the kind of connection these two shared, almost instantly, that it would only be a matter of time before Reid would realize exactly where he belongs and who he belongs with, now and forever.

Review

It’s incredibly difficult for teenagers to deal with life-altering situations, especially when the aftermath of those particular incidences leave them feeling lost, confused, and ultimately alone despite the number of people in their lives who try to help them, only to be pushed away because the emotions are too overwhelming…too raw…too unpredictable.

This maelstrom of emotions is what settles in Camellia Hale’s soul, darkening her days and preventing any kind of clarity as to how to move on with her life now that it’s imploded and fractured in heartbreakingly devastating ways. The picture perfect life that Camellia once had, including friends, passions, and a long-term boyfriend now seem inconsequential; everything no longer has meaning, and while Camellia is not supposed to find comfort and solace in someone who has authority over her due to the fact that he is both her teacher and her coach, it’s clear that David Andrews becomes Camellia’s security…her guiding light amidst the darkness…the one who helps her find other ways to cope with her pain…with her loss…with her burdens and demons that seem to dominate her psyche in tragically unhealthy ways.

David Andrews is a game changer for Camellia; he allows her to breathe again…to not want to completely vanish from her life, but their relationship, at least where it’s headed and in terms of society’s perception, is forbidden and taboo; it’s a bond that no one, besides themselves, will understand, and while they both are well aware of the risks…of the difficulties that will follow them…of the repercussions that could destroy their lives even more than they already are, David and Camellia refuse to surrender to public opinion…refuse to turn their backs on the one person who makes them feel more alive than they’ve ever felt before, and to them, those feelings will get see them through the chaos and heartbreak that is bound to come once their secrets are revealed.

The emotional torment that Camellia has felt since tragedy rocked every facet of her life resonates from the pages of Sweet Lucidity and E.K. Blair illustrates exactly what those feelings can do to a person who has spent her entire life following one course…one path who is then forced on a new journey – one that doesn’t make sense or seem to have any value. Readers can’t help but feel for Camellia and worry that her decisions and actions aren’t ones that she would make given a clear mind and a healed heart. But it’s also difficult to truly understand where/why people find solace, and as Camellia’s entire world plummets into darkness, her one guiding light is a man she’s not supposed to want or need, but that doesn’t stop her from doing so because she’d rather have him and be deemed wrong or immoral than be without him and suffer even more misery than she already does.

Anytime I read a forbidden romance story, especially one that involves a teacher and one of his/her students, I’m always intrigued by how the romance between them begins…I want to be able to understand all of the nuances behind their choices…the reasons the risk is worth it…the inevitably of the truth coming out…And, ultimately, the resolve to allow this ‘taboo’ relationship to continue despite society’s persecution of it.

What I enjoy most about E.K. Blair and her storytelling is that she isn’t afraid to think/write outside the box regardless of the ill reception her stories may receive. There is a lot about life and living that does not adhere to society’s dictates and to disregard that idea is incredibly close-minded. Life is messy and it’s difficult and it never follows a singular course, and while most people would rather wear their rose-colored glasses and strive to only see the good life offers, there’s a lot that people will find reprehensible but until they’ve looked at it from every angle and truly understand the reasons behind the actions, judgment should not be rendered, even for those things deemed taboo and forbidden.

COVER REVEAL: FALLEN REIGN by S.L. Jennings

Fallen Reign is the final installment to S.L. Jennings Paranormal Romance Series, SE7EN Sinnners releasing March 29th!

Cover Design by Hang Le

Synopsis

Yesterday, I had the audacity to imagine a future.

One that didn’t include hunting rogue demons and battling archangels to settle an ancient score at the expense of humanity. One comprised of a home and a family and all the things I’d longed for as a broken child.

Then in the blink of a silver speckled eye, my foolish hope was extinguished, and my world came crumbling down.

We stood strong. We fought. We lost.

I lost.

Legion, the demon I dared to love, was gone.

Now I’m going to tear myself in two and do the unthinkable to find him. I’m going to put my trust in his brother, his enemy, and make a deal with the Devil. And while his darkness and depravity echo mine, I know this won’t end well for either of us.

My body may survive, maybe even my soul. I can’t promise the same for my heart. This time, I will not fail. I will not hesitate. And if it comes down to it, I’ll be the weapon I was created to be. I will follow the code of the Se7en, and do what I should have done when we had the chance.

Kill one to save a million.

Kill him to save the world.
