From New York Times bestselling author Penelope Ward, comes a new, sexy standalone novel.

Growing up, the three of us were friends.

He was the nerd.

I was the playboy.

She was the beauty.

Deep down, I only ever wanted her. I kept it inside because Rory and I made a pact that our friend, Amber, was off-limits.

He lied.

I went off to college, and he got the girl.

Amber never knew how I felt.

They were together for years—before he broke her heart.

Through it all and across the miles, she and I casually stayed in touch.

When my job sent me to Boston for a three-month contract position, Amber let me stay in her spare room.

Still reeling from her breakup, she’d sworn off men.

One night, I opened her computer to find the shock of my life. She’d hesitantly contacted a male escort company. Afraid to date and get her heart broken again, she was looking for sex with no strings.

Every emotion imaginable ran through me: protectiveness, jealousy—curiosity.

Amber had chosen Gentleman Number Nine and sent him a message.

She opened up to him, confessing, among other things, her physical attraction to her friend— me. But she considered me off-limits—and she thought I was a manwhore. (Ironic, considering the circumstances.)

Eventually, she set up a date to meet Gentleman Nine at a hotel.

When she showed up several nights later to meet him, she got the surprise of her life to see me standing there—with an offer I hoped she wouldn’t refuse.

Rule No. 1: Do not enter the game unless you intend to finish. Once accepted, there is no escape.
This is a love story, one that comes with rules, expectations, and dark shadows. One where the man who challenges me the most is cloaked in deception. I had no choice but to accept the terms, nowhere to run once the clock started ticking.
Donovan Stone was a man few people dared to cross.
He was dark.
He was dominating.
He was so silent that you had to watch him closely to begin to know what he was thinking.
He was my boss, and the man I should have run from the minute I walked into his corporate office.
Like any bad decision, it took time for me to see the truth about the game I’d entered, for me to understand that it wasn’t the stalker in the shadows I should fear, but the man who pulled the strings.
I had no choice.
At least, that’s the lie I told myself to forgive my foolish actions.
And while running as fast as I could through twisted mazes and deceitful games, I understood that the Rules of Engagement were now my life. 3

RELEASE DAY BLITZ AND EXCERPT: Sky’s the Limit by Elle Aycart

#NewRelease #SkysTheLimit #ElleAycart #DoomsdayPreppers #OneClickIt

iBooks : smarturl.it/SkystheLimitEA

Amazon : smarturl.it/SkysTheLimitAycart

Kobo : http://bit.ly/2lumw5J

Goodreads : http://bit.ly/2z1jLQn

Tired of waiting for her big break in the fashion industry, Sky Gonzalez, eternal part-time student and overworked retail drone, quits her job, sublets her New York apartment, and embarks on a semester abroad study program in Paris. Paris! Time to throw caution to the winds and jump-start her dreams. What’s the worst that could happen?

How about getting sent to the wrong Paris? As in Paris-frigging-Minnesota?

Bye-bye career dreams. Bye-bye glamour and haute couture. Hello flannel shirts, mind-numbing cold, zero bars on the cell phone, and socially challenged mountain men with tons of unruly facial hair.

So yeah, let the truck barreling her way hit her, please. Less painful.

Logan should have dodged the little lost waif and kept on driving. Who in their right mind walked in the middle of the road, dressed in white from head to high heels, during a snowstorm? Clueless city girls, that’s who. Sky is all that Logan has gladly left behind: stylish, cosmopolitan, and a massive pain in the butt. He wouldn’t trade a single day in his quirky little corner of the woods for all the high-maintenance beauties the city can offer.

Too bad this beauty has been deemed a health hazard and quarantined in his house. Damn his doomsday-prepper neighbors and their paranoid emergency protocols. Now  he has to keep Sky in and the pandemic squad out until the roads are clear. The question is, will that happen before or after Sky realizes she’s under house arrest?

Ah, the best-laid plans…

Excerpt

This was so not happening. “Are you serious?” Sky choked out.

“I’m afraid so. I’ll make it up to you later, I swear. Get dressed.” Logan reached for the keys, unlocked one cuff, freed her from the headboard, and jumped off the bed. “Dark clothes. Camo if you’ve got it.”

She snorted, sitting up. “You’re joking, right? The closest I’ve gotten to camo was watching—with contempt, I might add—an episode of Duck Dynasty.”

“Black sweatpants then.”

Sure, like she had packed that for Paris. The only sweatpants she had were gold and pink. Prada, spring collection.

“Where’s the key for the cuffs?” she asked, looking around.

“I left it on the bed,” Logan shouted from the closet.

Sky patted the bedsheets but no luck. “Can’t find it.”

Logan came back carrying a big rucksack. He left it on the floor and lifted the bedcovers. No key. “Maybe it fell on the floor?”

Sky pointed at the rucksack, ominously similar to the ones she’d seen the 10K participants carry. “Don’t tell me. Bug-out bag?”

“Bug-out bag. We need to hurry. They time these drills. If we mess up their schedule, we won’t ever live it down. Get ready. I’ll search for the key.”

Where had she gone wrong? She’d had a nice, comfortable city life. Friday meant cosmopolitans, sexy clothes, and a fancy date with dinner and dancing. Hot sex if she was lucky. Now? She was in the middle of nowhere, getting ready for an evacuation drill, her mascara down her chest, her hair a mess, and her clit hurting like a bitch from not coming. No dinner. No dancing.

She heard the front door opening and a woman yelling, “Logan! Move it! Where are you?”

“My sister got tired of waiting outside.”

“Forget the key and go meet her downstairs,” Sky urged him. “Before she gets in here. Or worse, before Arnie attacks her.”

“Fuck.” Logan grabbed the bag and dashed out of the room. “We’re coming! Go back to the car. Give us a minute.”

“You got thirty seconds,” was the annoyed reply.

Sky pulled the first long-sleeved-shirt she could find over herself, hoping to cover the cuffs hanging from one wrist. It was Logan’s, so it went down to her knees. Whatever. She ran to her room and put on the pink-and-gold sweatpants and the black-and-red rubber boots. Jesus Christ, talk about hillbillying it.

She dashed downstairs. Logan was holding the front door for her. Outside, the horn on a big, black truck was blaring.

“About time,” said the driver, a gruff man dressed in camo, as they jumped in the vehicle. A woman with pixie-cut hair, also wearing camo, was riding shotgun. Megan, Logan’s sister, Sky presumed.

“If you batshit wackos would schedule your damn drills at a more reasonable hour, or let us know beforehand, this wouldn’t happen,” Logan snapped back.

“It wouldn’t be much of an emergency evacuation drill if we gave notice beforehand, would it?” the pixie lady said.

After a colorful array of jobs all over Europe ranging from translator to chocolatier to travel agent to sushi chef to flight dispatcher, Elle Aycart is certain of one thing and one thing only: aside from writing romances, she has abso-frigging-lutely no clue what she wants to do when she grows up. Not that it stops her from trying all sorts of crazy stuff. While she is probably now thinking of a new profession, her head never stops churning new plots for her romances. She lives currently in Barcelona, Spain, with her husband and two daughters, although who knows, in no time she could be living at the Arctic Circle in Finland, breeding reindeer.

Elle loves to hear from readers!

TEASER_5

Review

January just got a heck of a lot hotter, which is much needed since I’m freezing my ass off in Michigan!

Let me introduce you to your first J. Kenner Man of the Month…Mr. January himself, Reece Walker, and while it took some persuasion and maybe even a few sexual favors, Jenna got her man for the first month of the year and perhaps a best friend who just might be so much more as long as they’re willing to risk a lifelong friendship for a relationship, recognizing what they feel for each other is desire and sexual attraction not just the friendly affection that they both believed the other only felt.

Down On Me is a quick and dirty read – one that explores what happens when friends become lovers and act on suppressed feelings that have finally been brought to the surface. The premise behind the creation of the calendar sets up the series nicely and also allows characters to be introduced a few at a time, which will not overwhelm readers and allow the build-up for the announcement of who will be the faces of the calendar and also help The Fix on Sixth to remain open, which is ultimately what Brent, Reece, and Jenna want to accomplish.

There are 11 more months of the calendar to fill, so J. Kenner’s choices will be slowly revealed as each new book in the series is released. I already have a couple nominations for February, but I’ll wait and see if any new alpha males catch my fancy when they’re introduced in the books to come.

About J. Kenner

J. Kenner (aka Julie Kenner) is the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Wall Street Journal and #1 International bestselling author of over seventy novels, novellas and short stories in a variety of genres.

Though known primarily for her award-winning and international bestselling erotic romances (including the Stark and Most Wanted series) that have reached as high as #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, JK has been writing full time for over a decade in a variety of genres including paranormal and contemporary romance, “chicklit” suspense, urban fantasy, and paranormal mommy lit.

JK has been praised by Publishers Weekly as an author with a “flair for dialogue and eccentric characterizations” and by RT Bookclub for having “cornered the market on sinfully attractive, dominant antiheroes and the women who swoon for them.” A five time finalist for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA award, JK took home the first RITA trophy awarded in the category of erotic romance in 2014 for her novel, Claim Me (book 2 of her Stark Trilogy). Her Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series (as Julie Kenner) is currently in development with AwesomenessTV/Awestruck.

Her books have sold over three million copies and are published in over twenty languages.

In her previous career as an attorney, JK worked as a clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced primarily civil, entertainment and First Amendment litigation in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as in Austin, Texas. “You have got to be kidding me,” I growl as I see that big blond bastard climb from his truck. Well, it’s really more of a sandy brown but I’m an alliteration kind of a gal.

The parking lot is still dark, with the exception of the tall lights that pock the black asphalt. It’s four in the morning, so the sun won’t be up for a few more hours. I should be the only one here. Something Kane and I had already argued out last night. I even won best two out of three on rock-paper-scissors.

“Better believe it, Princess,” he barks out as he pulls a gear bag from the bed of his truck.

“No. No, no, no, no, no. Put that back. You’re not supposed to be here,” I plead as I grab my own skate bag and toss it over my shoulder. “I offered to rock-paper-scisor you for this spot and you said no. That makes it mine by default.”

He sighs. “You know, you don’t always have to be such a selfish bitch.” I rear back as if he struck me. “You could share the ice.”

“I’m here at four so I don’t have to,” I whisper.

He shakes his head as if he’s trying to clear a bad thought, erasing something that didn’t turn out right on an Etch A Sketch.

I look away. If ever there was anyone who could make me feel like a bug, like dog poop on my shoe, less than, it’s Kane Fucking Green, and trust me, others have tried. I feel the burn in my nostrils. I refuse to let him see me cry. Ever. And Lord knows I have cried my fair share of tears over Kane Fucking Green, and I’m not going to shed another one. I’m just not.

I take a deep breath, turn on my heels, and walk away from him. I feel his gaze burn my skin. It’s not the only thing he’s burned in the last year. He’s burned almost every bridge I had. Literally, the only thing left in my life is figure skating. I feel him on my heels as I walk up the concrete steps at the front of my home rink, Del Mar Ice House.

The big glass doors and windows that line the entire front of the rink are dark. That’s weird. Usually, Vadim turns the lights on when he comes in to unlock the doors for me. Maybe he’s having a late start this morning. Although, that’s not like him at all.

Most people think that my early mornings are crazy. That my four-in-the-morning practices are insane. But I love it. I love the smell of fresh ice. I love the quiet time when I can pace through my routines free from distractions. It’s my time to think or to not think, to clear my head and just be free. And my life is anything but free. Being a sitting senator’s daughter pretty much guarantees that, so I love this time to myself. I love mornings like this.

Vadim, the rink owner, loves these mornings too. He’s always here well before my early time slot. He unlocks the doors for me and turns on the lights. We once struck up a friendship over our love for Moscow. He was surprised to find out that I trained there for a whole summer under some of the best figure skating coaches in the world.

From that moment on, we were bonded. He’s like a favorite uncle doting on his beloved niece. So Vadim took to surfacing the ice on the Zamboni before I come in, even though it was surfaced right before closing the night before. He sharpens my blades for me when I need it. And he’s the best. No one can get me a better hollow. So it’s surprising when the lights are still out upon my arrival.

Although, he did double-book this time with Kane as well. I was so mad when I found out Kane Fucking Green had weaseled his way into my favorite ice time. I need this time to clear my head. From people like Kane Fucking Green. I haven’t been able to be in the same room as him since The Event.

I don’t think anyone could blame me. Who did he hurt? He hurt me.

I look at my sterling silver Rolex watch on my wrist. It’s ten after four in the morning. That’s so unlike Vadim. He should be here by now.

“What’s wrong?” Kane asks, reading my mood.

“He’s late,” I say softly.

I reach for the handle of the door, and it pulls free without effort. The door is unlocked. I pause for a second and then walk through the door. Vadim must be here after all. He must have forgotten to turn on the front lights.

“Wait, maybe I should check it out,” he says as he places his palm on my shoulder. I immediately stiffen.

I shrug off his hold. “You would just love that, wouldn’t you?” I growl. “Oh, sure, go right ahead and enjoy my ice time while I stand here like an idiot in the parking lot, Kane.” I roll my eyes.

“Is that what you really think of me, Princess?” he asks, his voice low in warning.

“At this juncture, I’m not sure what to believe,” I say honestly, meeting his blue gaze.

“I suppose I deserve that,” he sighs.

“I suppose you do. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a National Championship to prepare for,” I say as I start walking down the hall toward the ice.

The rubber mats squeak under my sneakers—the shoes my stepmonster hates with a passion, but which are so comfortable. Especially after a long workout on the ice. I head toward the team boxes. That’s where I’ll put on my skates and stash my music and my water by the boards.

Kane is beside me as we turn the corner and stop in our tracks.

Whereas the main building lights were off, the lights over the ice are on. The whir of the Zamboni is deafening as it circles the ice top over and over. I gasp when Kane’s hand closes tight over my bicep, bringing me to a halt, and I raise my head to see what he sees.

Vadim is sprawled back over the seat of the Zamboni. His eyes point up at the championship banners of the local professional hockey team, all lined up in a neat row, but they don’t see them. They won’t see anything again. The bullet hole between his blank eyes saw to that.

“Holy son of Scott Hamilton,” I speak without thought.

“You got that right, babe. Whatever that means,” Kane says before he leads me back through the rink and out the glass front doors.

I open my mouth to say something, anything, but instead find myself racing over to the bushes to toss my cookies. Kane is behind me, rubbing my back and making soothing noises. He hands me a water bottle from his gear bag before pulling his phone from his pocket.

“Dispatch, this is Detective Kane Green, badge number 57635. I need to report a homicide,” he says into his phone before lowering the volume of his voice. “And I have Senator Dubois’s daughter with me.”

Six months ago, I had hoped to put Kane Fucking Green and all of his bullshit behind me. I swore I wouldn’t focus on anything but myself and this next Olympic cycle. Not my dad—the US senator—or his bitch of a wife. And definitely not the feelings of hurt and betrayal that seeing Kane always seems to bring to the surface. Not to mention other feelings. My name is Sophia Eleanor Dubois, “Sophie” to my friends, and I have a funny feeling Kane Green just screwed me and my plans . . . again.

Jennifer is a thirty something lover of words, all words: the written, the spoken, the sung (even poorly), the sweet, the funny, and even the four letter variety. She is a native of San Diego, California where she grew up reading the Brownings and Rebecca with her mother and Clifford and the Dog who Glowed in the Dark with her dad, much to her mother’s dismay.

Jennifer is a graduate of California State University San Marcos where she studied Criminology and Justice Studies. She is also an Alpha Xi Delta.

10 years ago, she was swept off her feet by her very own sailor. Today, they are happily married and the parents of a 8 year old and 6 year old twins. She can often be found in East Texas on the soccer fields, drawing with her children, or reading. I was so lost in my sketching I flinched when the lobby door opened, and my pencil skidded off the page, leaving a deep mark even the eraser wouldn’t undo. I frowned for a split second before looking up, ready to greet my visitor with a megawatt smile.

The smile fell, along with my chin.

My visitor was straight out of a magazine. His light brown hair was tied back in a neat man bun. His strong jaw was covered in an expertly manicured beard. His caramel-brown eyes, framed with long, dark lashes, were aimed at me with such intensity they nearly knocked me off my stool.

When he turned to close the door, I was suddenly very aware of the fact I was wearing no makeup and my clothes were about as dull as an economics lecture. But hey! At least you washed your hair today. Thank god I wasn’t in my normal blue baseball cap.

I wouldn’t look like a complete slouch in front of this man.

This man was all the good things about my Chrises rolled into one. This man should be in the middle of a photo shoot for a fifty-foot billboard, not standing inside my motel lobby.

This man was about to get the mumbling, fumbling version of Maisy Holt the likes of which no one had never seen.

Super.

I still don’t know how it happened. One minute I was arguing with my arrogant competitor–our usual trash-talk over who deserves the larger commission. But somehow I went from throwing down to kneeling down…

It can never happen again. I don’t even like Braht. He’s too slick. He’s a manipulating mansplaining party boy in preppy clothes.

So why can’t I get him out of my head?

Braht

There are two things I know without question. One: Ash and I are destined for each other. Two: never trust a man with a unibrow.

Ash is my missing my piece. She’s the sweet cream to my gourmet espresso. And nothing gets me going faster than her contempt for me. They don’t call her the Ashkicker for nothing.

Eventually I’ll win her over…if my past doesn’t ruin everything first.

Review

After being introduced to Braht in Man Hands, I didn’t quite know how to take him; like Ash, I had mixed feelings towards him, not the lust/hate variety that Ash has but more so in the varying state of liking him and being annoyed by him, but I can happily say my view of him drastically changed by the end of his and Ash’s story.

Braht is not a typical book hero, and maybe that’s why he was a bit off-putting at the beginning of Man Card. But as the book continued, and Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby allowed readers to gain further insight into this metrosexual realtor, I found myself intrigued by how multifaceted of a character he actually turns out to be, and by the end, I truly believed that even though Braht is quite atypical when it comes to society’s standards of a ‘real man,’ I didn’t feel the need to make Braht turn in his man card; on the contrary, I wanted to create a new type of man card that truly fit this crazy, pampered, and quite amazing man!

There’s no better woman for a man like Braht than Ash Power, and I loved witnessing them circle around one another, challenging each other and proving just how complementary their personalities are. Like Braht, there’s so much more to Ash than what she allows most people to see; there’s a definite reason that she portrays herself to be this strong, independent, and kickass woman, and don’t get me wrong, she is all of those things, but there’s a vulnerability to her that few see, but because readers get her perspective throughout the story, we’re allowed to understand why she’s built a wall around her heart…why she’s not going to make the same mistakes she did five years ago…why she’d rather pretend to hate Braht than to risk falling for the man who lights her up and makes her nipples hard;)

The story line of Man Card pits these two competitive realtors against one another, but what it also does is sexually rile them up to the point where they have no other option but to give into those lust-filled feelings, and while it seems to be a point of contention for Ash, at least at the beginning, she’s who Braht has always wanted and the fact that she challenges him in all areas makes it a sweet victory when she finally succumbs to the man who considers himself Man 2.0 because he’s as in touch with his femininity as he is with his ability to protect the feisty woman who owns his heart, his body, and every other manscaped part of him.

I really enjoyed Ash and Braht’s story. It was nothing like I expected and while that through me off a bit at the beginning, the further I got into the storyline and the more the authors allowed me to see who Ash and Braht are beneath their hostile and competitive personas, the more I was not only entertained but even a bit smitten by the ‘reincarnation of 80s James Spader’ and the woman he would gladly turn in his man card for.

4.5 Poison Apples

Excerpt

Name your other favorite movies,” I challenge Braht.

All of them?” He chugs his margarita.

Hmm. Top ten? Top five?”

That’s totally easy,” he says. Somehow I’ve gotten closer to him on the floor. When he sits back, I actually snuggle in beside him. He’s wearing a ridiculously soft shirt that feels good against my skin. And I watch with fascination as he ticks off the names of films on his fingers. When Harry Met Sally. The Devil Wears Prada. Roman Holiday. Clueless. And Working Girl.”

I burst out laughing. I can’t help it. Those are all chick flicks. You should just hand over your man card right now.”

Not a chance.” Braht’s expression grows intense. In the first place, I gave you a very thorough demonstration of my man card last week. I don’t remember hearing any complaints.”

I swallow hard, because this is certainly true.

And secondly, you’re looking at this all backward.”

I…am?” And why can’t I look away? He has the most beautiful, intelligent eyes.

Yeah, you are,” he whispers. It’s the guy who has a firm grip on his man card that can hold your purse. He’s not afraid to be seen with that Tory Burch you like to carry—nice color, by the way. He’ll free up your hands because he likes your hands, and he remembers all the terrific things you can use them for.”

Oh,” I say slowly. Now my fingers itch to reach out for him. I have to make fists with both hands so I won’t do it.

Furthermore, he’s not afraid to quote Working Girl. Because Joan Cusack is a genius. And who wouldn’t want to say Melanie Griffith’s best line out loud?”

I can’t help saying it with him, and together we sound like the world’s horniest Greek chorus: I have a head for business and a body for sin.”

Sin sounds pretty good right now, actually. But Braht’s not done with his speech. Any man who tells you that chick flicks are for pussies can’t be any good in bed. Because that man does not speak the language of women. He doesn’t know that a little luxury can erase a shitty day of worrying about your ex…”

Braht takes my hand in his and begins to massage it. He has a great technique, applying gentle pressure between each joint. I relax just a little bit more against him.

“…That man doesn’t speak the language because he’s afraid of sounding like a girl. But fuck that noise, honey bear. If a man doesn’t have the vocabulary to describe a satin teddy with peekaboo lace and mother-of-pearl snaps at the crotch, he can’t buy it for you and then strategically ask you to wear it. He can’t plan ahead to blow your mind sometime by lifting your skirt somewhere semi-public and dangerous. And he can’t get down on his knees and kiss that lace and then pop open those snaps while you bite your own hand to keep from screaming when you climax.” Braht takes a deep breath and lets it out in one hot gust. Fuck. What was the point of this speech?”

“Um…” My voice is hoarse, and my face is suddenly very hot. Let’s not even mention my nipples. Man cards, I think.” But I’m not sure, because everything tingles.

Right,” he says with a sigh. Still got mine. Shall we watch Working Girl next?”

Okay,” I breathe, sinking a little further into his comforting embrace.

RELEASE BLITZ: SEX, NOT LOVE by Vi Keeland

My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards.

We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction.

I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me.

We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number.

I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn’t dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home.

I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems.

Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?

Nothing, I thought.

It’s just sex, not love.

But you know what they say about the best laid plans…

REVIEW BLITZ: THE WRIGHT SECRET by K.A. Linde

A new brother’s-best-friend stand alone romance by USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

I was just his best friend’s little sister.

But he was always more than that to me.

After twelve years of pining over Patrick’s easy smile, baby blues, and captivating charm, I decide to take matters into my own hands—and completely blow my chance.

Who knew a self-proclaimed manwhore would decide to be a gentleman the first time I’m naked in his bed? Definitely, not me. But when I land there again, neither of us has any intention of stopping.

There’s only one problem: nobody can know. Especially not my three older brothers. If they found out, all hell would break loose.

So I’m willing to keep our secret. Because I want him Wright here, right now.

Review

I love the Wright siblings; they’re a close knit family who has each other’s back no matter the situation, partly because they’ve grown up largely on their own due to their parents’ deaths and partly because their bond helps see them through their self-destructive ways as well as any drama or stress that is brought into their lives.

Through Jensen, Landon, and Austin’s books, readers have witnessed Morgan’s strength and drive to maintain Wright Construction’s well-respected name and prove her business sense and abilities to succeed in a world, mostly dominated and led by men.

Morgan Wright is a heroine that many readers can identify with because a lot of us find it difficult to balance our professional and personal lives just like she does in The Wright Secret. As the newly named CEO of her family’s company, work dominates her every waking hour, leaving her very little time for herself or any down time to pursue a significant other, which is just fine by her until her long-time crush, who happens to be Austin’s best friend, starts to see her as someone other than ‘his best friend’s little sister.’

Patrick, like a lot of guys, is oblivious to Morgan’s feelings for him; he’s never truly seen her as a woman…at least in terms of attraction, but when she takes a risk and shows him exactly what he wants, even though he’s caught off guard, he soon realizes that there is one Wright sibling who no longer fits the familial bond that he has with all of the other ones.

Patrick is the perfect laid back guy to counter Morgan’s workaholic demeanor and help her learn to live for more than just her career. And while it takes them a bit to get on the same page, keeping what they have a secret from those who love them, their relationship can’t remain hidden for long given how close the Wright crew is and the fallout of the lies could turn out to cause more problems for Patrick and Morgan than just her family’s reaction.

I’ve enjoyed every Wright book that K.A. Linde has written; each one has been steamy, sweet, and a bit angsty, showcasing the siblings’ love for one another and matching them with their perfect other half. Patrick and Morgan are a great couple who help even each other out when it comes to work vs. play.

I do have to admit that I did feel like the drama that was created in The Wright Secret focused on people outside of Patrick and Morgan’s relationship, leaving them to deal with the residual effects of others’ actions, which I didn’t mind too much, but things seemed to move pretty quickly between them without having to deal with too much fallout, even with lying to those closest to them. And, maybe it’s just because I’m used to the Wright men struggling when it came to finding love that I expected things to be more dramatic, but maybe that’s exactly why it wasn’t, given both Patrick and Morgan’s personalities, but it just seemed too easy.

Overall, though, The Wright Secret is a great addition to the other Wright siblings’ stories, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to read Sutton’s book – there’s a lot of pain to work through and I’m sure it’s going to be one angsty ride as Sutton tries to accept her husband’s death and her new feelings for someone other than the man she thought she would love forever.
