I feel like I’m cheating on Alex and Garrett, but I can’t help but adore Ryker. He’s is such an exceptional man!

Every storyline in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Hockey series has captured my attention from the start; the subject matter, tension, and full disclosure conversations have made each book a one sitting read for me, but in Ryker, Bennett takes on an issue that is at the forefront in sports today – women’s roles in male dominated sports. – and she proves that regardless of gender, skill, intelligence, and drive, the right person for the job should have total support from everyone involved.

Grayson Brannon is a woman who strives to be the best in every aspect of her life; she’s an incredible heroine because she exudes grace under pressure, works her ass off to be good at what she does, and doesn’t back down from anyone, which in the environment she finds herself in requires Grayson to not be intimidated and hold her own among a team of macho males. But what makes Grayson such a dynamic character is the fact that she has a softer side as well and she’s not afraid to show her vulnerability, her need for love, and her desire for a man to have her back regardless of the situation.

Ryker Evans may be a brick wall out on the ice, but he’s a sensitive, loyal, and caring man who finds a kindred spirit in Grayson. Regardless if their relationship is a conflict of interest because she’s his boss, they deserve to be together because they perfectly fit one another. Ryker’s a loving father, a tenacious goalie, and one hell of a dirty talking alpha, which makes his appeal even greater.

Grayson and Ryker’s relationship as well as their story leads them and readers down a stressful but intoxicating path that is further complicated by an ex-wife and a few prejudicial hockey players. Ryker’s starting spot as goalie is on the line each and every game, so he needs to be focused on his job as does Grayson, but there’s a lot more at stake than just their careers and so they both have to decide if what they are developing is worth the risks that they’re taking and when the fallout occurs because there’s really no chance of it not, what decisions will they make and what will that do to them both personally and professionally.

I can’t say enough about Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Hockey series; it’s amazing how she crafts such rich stories amidst the sport of hockey and the way she develops characters who are both complex and diverse make each book an absolute gem of a read.

It doesn’t get any better for me as a reader than Sawyer Bennett’s storytelling!

“Where did you learn to dance?” she asked.

He couldn’t say that his very first manager had hired dance instructors to work with him to perfect his on-stage moves and that, more recently, he’d hired a “male entertainer” to show him how to make his moves sexier. Instead, he opted for something he could tell her.

“My grandparents owned an Arthur Murray dance studio. I spent my summers there. When I was thirteen, I thought it would be the happening place to pick up girls, so I paid attention. I learned a lot.”

“I’ll bet you were smooth even back then.”

“I thought I was.” He smiled at her. “I see the pictures now and think ‘dork in braces.’”

She laughed. “I can’t imagine it.”

“True story.”

Because he wasn’t digging even the small bit of distance between them, Jesse flattened his palm to her back, sliding down to the sway in her spine, bringing her petite frame and sweet curves even closer. He didn’t usually have any trouble controlling his cock. Now it had a mind of its own, and he ached to slide all of her against every inch of him too badly to care if she felt that.
