Re-Release Day Blitz: Review and Giveaway: The Tango Lesson by Melanie Harlow

tangolessonebookcoverfinal

Synopsis

**Previously published in 2013 as THREE TO TANGO in The Unwrapped Anthology, THE TANGO LESSON is a stand-alone novella with a Happily Ever After a Threesome Ending**

My name is Isabelle, and I’m a smut fiend.

But only when it comes to books.

In fact, for twenty-three years, the only outwardly kinky thing about me was my hair on a rainy day. Compared to the toe-curling, earth-shattering, mind-blowing romps on my Kindle, my sex life was totally vanilla. Less than vanilla, actually—it was vanonexistent.

And then I took a tango lesson.

They say it takes two to tango, but let me tell you–

a tango for three is a hell of a lot of fun.

Review

When reading a novella, it’s hard to fully understand the depth of the characters because the storyline is not very complex or drawn out, which makes readers feel a disconnect between themselves and the story. But, if readers take a novella for what it is – a snapshot of a moment, a quick, fast-paced sometimes smexy read – it makes it easy to appreciate what the writer has done in a short amount of space.

Isabelle Peach is a smut junkie who lives vicariously through her romance novels, trading in her vanilla lifestyle for wanton and reckless moments where the need for release takes over any need for clear thinking.

Isabelle’s real life doesn’t compare to any of the scenes she reads in her stories, but for one day/night, she experiences the ultimate sensual experience straight out of one of her smut books and has the courage to let go and surrender to the sensual experience.

Isabelle’s tango lesson is a place to let desire take over and let it guide her in her actions and words, and boy does she ace this lesson!

If you’re looking for a well written, quick read with a quirky heroine, a hot as sin Latin dancer, and one night of ecstasy, Melanie Harlow’s The Tango Lesson is the escape you need.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!

Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life.

His friendly smiles make her tongue-tied and weak-kneed, and she’s never been able to move beyond her childhood crush. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…

But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. Not helping Jessica’s muddled mind and good girl sensibilities, Duane seems to have gotten himself in trouble with the local biker gang, the Iron Order.
Certainly, Beau’s magic spell is broken. Yet when Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her adversary, now more dangerous than ever, how much of her level-head heart is she willing to risk?

SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing).

By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories.

 Review

What a fantastic second part to a highly erotic, complicated, and suspenseful story.Roxy Sloane does a great job of illustrating Nikki’s conflicting feelings. She’s questioning all of the circumstantial evidence that she’s found and each conversation she’s had with those who know about the case or knew who her brother was, which only complicates things further because while she can’t deny that intellectually everything seems to be pointing to one person, her body still yearns for him and can’t give him up.

The storyline in Part Two is incredibly complex, deliberately forcing Nikki and readers to make assumptions that seem obvious based on her findings, but like any good suspense story, things that seem certain are anything but, and I feel like that is the case here, but then more clues are uncovered that change my mind again.

What is clear is that Nikki is playing a dangerous game, putting herself on the line to prove her brother was murdered, which could end up costing her, her life.

I’m hoping in the final part of Roxy Sloane’s The Scene that the answers that are revealed fit my theory because it will destroy any hope that Nikki has on moving forward if they don’t.

Roxy Sloane is a masterful serial writer because she keeps readers guessing throughout the series and takes them on one hell of a steamy and suspenseful ride until the very end.

RELEASE DAY BLITZ: REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY: Crave Me by Geneva Lee

cravemeebook

Synopsis

Belle’s story begins in the captivating fourth installment of the New York Times bestselling series.

I made myself a promise: No men. No romance. No waiting around for a prince that’s not going to come. Because some girls don’t get happily ever afters. Some girls only get broken hearts.

Which is exactly why I should stay away from him. He’s vile. He’s arrogant. He’s controlling. And I don’t trust him.

But some men get into your blood—under your skin. Some men you just can’t get enough of.

Some men you just crave.

This a full-length novel. It’s recommended you read the previous books, but not necessary to enjoy the story.

cravemeteaser15

Review

I loved Belle in Alexander and Clara’s books, and I couldn’t wait for her story. She’s always played a part for everyone in her life, but she never really had anything for herself. In Crave Me, Geneva Lee introduces Belle to the man she needs to help free herself from her family/life’s constrains, but it comes at a price because the man who owns her body and her heart is a man full of secrets and surrounded by dangerous people, so Belle is going to need to decide if she can live with all of his predilections and the mystery that surrounds his life or refuse to give into her cravings for him, which is not an easy decision when the heart and body want one thing and the mind is saying something completely different.

Smith Price is an enigma throughout the story; there are multiple layers to his personality as well as his duplicity, and it’s quite unclear what his end game is with Belle and his associates. But one thing is for sure, Price is a calculated man who takes risks, but those actions have to be worth it, and it seems as if Belle was meant to be one thing and then turned into something else, and he doesn’t quite know what to do with that yet, but he’s working on it. I’m glad Ms. Lee gives readers Price’s perspective because it’s necessary to understand the strategies behind his decisions and the conflicting feelings he has as he starts a physical relationship with Belle.

Geneva Lee expertly crafts a tale of sex, intrigue, and passion. Belle didn’t want to give into her desire for Price, but through Lee’s writing, readers understand that it was inevitable because he made her feel more alive than she’s ever been. But the danger is lurking and readers will have to wait for the continuation of Belle’s story to see what Price is willing to do/sacrifice for the woman who seems to own his soul.

Most people know Hollywood heartthrob, Ryan Summer, as Ryan, no last name required. But once upon a time, he was just Summer to Carrie Ann—before a decade of blockbuster hits skyrocketed his success into superstardom.

Summer was smart, gorgeous, and cocky as hell. Nothing was out of his reach. Not even Carrie Ann Lowell. He was the love of her life—until he shattered her heart. Their breakup left more than a profound rift in her soul. It crushed her.

When Carrie Ann’s college flame forces his way back into her life, his dirty-talking, bold self-assurance re-ignites a passion she thought had long since been extinguished. Carrie Ann didn’t believe in second chances.

Not even for him.

No matter how deliciously tempting.

With sparks flying and hidden truths unraveling, will Carrie Anne be able to deny her desires to save herself from another heart break?

Review

A second chance to taste Summer?

Who wouldn’t want that opportunity?

Carrie Ann Lowell wants to deny the feelings she still has for Ryan Summer because 10 years ago, they broke up amidst loss, interferences, and mistakes, forcing Carrie to barricade her heart so that she never has to feel that kind of pain again.

But what Carrie Ann doesn’t count on all of these years later is movie star heartthrob, Ryan Summer, making it impossible for her to forget about what they had. Summer’s tenacity to win back Carrie Ann’s heart forces her to reconsider her choices, but the guilt and baggage from their previous relationship still exists, so Summer has his work cut out for him because even though he wants a second chance, he has his own scars from their college romance that need to be healed as well.

I’ve adored every single book in Beverly Preston’s Matthews Family series, and A Taste of Summer a fantastic addition because not only do readers get to catch up with the Matthews clan, but they also get to understand more about Shayla’s best friend Carrie Ann and the man who has always owned her heart.

Carrie Ann is a sassy, driven, and passionate woman who understands loss more than she would like to, and, in a way, she allows those feelings to consume her life, immersing herself in her work so that the pain can remain below the surface. I love her humor and the way she stands up for herself, even when she is in the wrong, which happens a time or two when she’s with Summer. She holds a lot of guilt over her past, and there are hints along the way as to the reasons behind those overwhelming feelings. Carrie Ann’s afraid to be honest, but when the truth is revealed, Beverly Preston does a tremendous job with the actions of all those involved.

Ryan Summer – readers are going to adore him and want their own taste. I loved his persistence in order to get what he wants – Carrie Ann. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that Ryan would do anything for a second chance with the love of his life. Even when Carrie Ann was being stubborn and resisting any attempts to discuss the past in order to move forward, Ryan showed time and again that he was all in, putting everything on the line to reclaim his Red.

A Taste of Summer is another emotional and sexy read from the wonderfully romantic mind of Beverly Preston. She brings the sweet, steam, and even a bit of silly into Summer and Carrie Ann’s story, making it a must read.

A complimentary copy was provided in exchange for an honest review.

Excerpt

“Summer, are you awake?” Scoffing at her own ridiculous question, she eased a hip onto the edge of his mattress so she could reach him.

He stirred restlessly, rearranging the arm above his head.

Carrie Ann extended an arm, the flat of her hand hovered above his chiseled physique, deciding where to touch him. The outline of muscular thigh bent to the side beneath the silky fabric. Temptation, powerful in its force, pulled at her hand like a magnet.

A shiver ran through her.

Warily, she touched her icy fingers his warm shoulder. “Summer?”

His eyes jarred wide with alarm. Summer lunged upright, swiftly grasping onto her upper arm. “Carrie Ann?”

“Yeah, it’s me,” she croaked. A fine layer of perspiration spread across her skin, dampening the thin material of her cotton tank top.

Mere inches separated their faces. He looked bewildered, blinking repeatedly to see if she was real. His hands wandered to the underside of her jaw, cupping her face. The confusion in his eyes replaced with lust. His fingers delved into her thick mane, gently clasping the base of her skull. The pressure felt divinely good.

“You came to me?” Hope clouded his whisper. His moist breath, rough and strained, drifting across her cheek on a billowy cloud.

Unable to make a coherent sentence, she sat silent, panting and quaking from head to toe. Her hands came to his arms, securing to his wrists, uncertain if she wanted to hold them there or pull them away. Aspen scampered from her lap taking ownership of his pillow.

Thunder roared through the black sky in a long drawn-out rumble, delivering a strike of lightning beyond his window. Her clammy fingers tugged at the dusting of dark hair covering his wrists as she squeezed, digging her nails into the flesh.

Summer dropped his forehead against hers. All the air pushed from his lungs in a deep, disillusioned sound of sympathy.

“Christ. It’s the lightning?” He drew her into his chest, arms closed around her, stroking her hair and back. “Come here, Red.”

She nodded weakly and went limp against him. Gripped by fear, her arms quaked violently, curling around his shoulders. Carrie Ann shimmied to get closer. Summer held her safe and secure, offering constant reassurance. “It’s okay. I’m right here. I got you, Red.”

Over the years, she’d tried cognitive behavioral techniques to calm her fear: soothing massages, visualization exercises, talking herself through the panic, but nothing calmed her nerves like the feeling of Summer’s embrace.

Clutching her shoulders, he coaxed her a few inches from his body. “You want to climb in here with me?”

Glimpsing downward at the sheet pooled around his very naked hips, she shook her head hotly. Her breathing slowly began to regulate, anxiously waiting for the next strike. She trembled from head to toe, peeling her nails from the muscles flanking his spine. “W…will you come sit with me in the living room?”

“Sure.”

Fisting the covers, he moved around her and stepped out of bed. Naked. Staring straight ahead, her lips parted releasing a small gasp, completely mesmerized by the sight of him, semi erect getting harder before her eyes. A shiver tingled up her spine, feeling the ghost of his hand slipping firmly into the mass of hair at her nape. She knew she should look away, but loneliness left her yearning for comfort.

Taking notice of her fascination, he paused. A quirk ticked the corner of his mouth. Summer caressed the side of her face, pinching her chin between his finger and thumb. Her mouth willingly opened a little wider.

“It’s not like you haven’t seen it before,” Summer repeated her words.

His voice slipped over her like the comfort of a favorite blanket, pulling a faint groan from her throat. Begrudgingly, she flicked her eyes upward finding his, but only for a moment. Her gaze dropped to the thick, jutting column protruding from a perfectly trimmed nest of dark hair. Twinges of need stabbed at her core, her chest needled with warning, and her mouth watered.

A flash of lightning weaved across the sky, slamming to the ground. The thunder ricocheted throughout her body. Summer pulled her to her feet and into his arms. The hot, solid length of him, rested against her abdomen with only a thin barrier of cotton between them.

“Your choice, Red. Would you like me to get dressed? Or if you’d prefer I can undress you. We can lay wherever you’d like. In front of the fire, my bed, your bed, the couch, the kitchen table…Hmm? It’s your call.”

The double question struck low in her abdomen, wickedly fingering a pleasure cord as if plucking pizzicato on a cello. The internal vibration wracked her head and heart in confusion. She’d built a barricade around her heart, safeguarding her raw emotions. Being near him the last few days chipped away at the armor. She didn’t know what she wanted. That’s a lie, Carrie Ann Lowell. You know exactly where you want him. As she instinctually licked her lips, she could feel the look of torment etching over her face. Her heart felt as if it were sitting on the stump outside waiting to be chopped in two, but her fucking vagina was ready to give the acceptance speech of a lifetime. I’d like to accept this penis…

He spoke into the curve of her scalp. “Let me throw some pants on and we’ll go lay on the couch. Okay?”

She nodded hotly, staying right beside him as he stepped into his walk-in closet.

Synopsis

Lauren Michaels is exhausted with the push and pull of copy editing for Los Angeles’s woman’s magazine, Frenzy, which caters to pop culture, style, and above all, sex.

She wants to write for the magazine rather than edit, but her boss is convinced that Lauren’s conservative tendencies won’t fit in with the risqué nature of what Frenzy is about.

Convinced to make her mark, Lauren begs for the chance to prove her self.

Her boss agrees, tasking her with the impossible, in hopes of failure, because although she doesn’t want her to become a journalist, she doesn’t want to lose her as Editor-in-Chief, either.

Her daunting mission? To investigate the growing popularity of sex clubs in Los Angeles, and figure out how the sensual underworld functions.

Out of her element, Lauren starts her search with pen and paper in hand at a local sex shop, hoping she’ll find a trail that leads to the dark lairs of sex and fetishes.

Trying to hide her inexperience, and pretending she’s a professional sex kitten, this trail instead leads her to one brooding, Nathan Sanders.

He’s daunting, charming, and a little too dark and mysterious for her taste, but Lauren knows he’s what she needs as her way in.

What she doesn’t see coming is that Nathan is all too willing to invite her to a nightclub she’s only ever heard stories about, and also the fact that Nathan know’s Lauren doesn’t have a clue what she’s getting herself into.

However, he can’t turn down the idea of helping her out with her research once she confesses the whole story.

This could be fun, they said. There’s no harm in it, they agreed.

Little do they know, a little research can serve up some unexpected results.

Far 2

Excerpt

I nudge my chin toward him to imply the same. He grins, and his eyes are all over my body at once, dragging quickly over my face, down my chest, my hips, legs, and to my toes before making the same journey back up. I feel like his private exhibit.

I twirl his card between the fingertips of both of my index fingers, giving him my own head-to-toe glance.

“Do you do this often? Stroll into this place and ask for sex?”

Saying the word sex out loud feels terrifying, but also empowering, because that’s what this shop is about, and that’s exactly what it means when a place like Fahrenheit is brought up. I may not know what the hell I’m doing, but I refuse to let these lines get blurred in the process. Let’s not confuse the context. I’m (apparently) agreeing to have sex with Nathan Sanders, and I just met him.

He’s so much taller than me, so when he leans toward me, he’s looming over my frame, but his presence seems to encase me, pulling me in with one swift move.

I try to remember that this is about research, and gaining an understanding of what the world of sex clubs and fetishes are about, but when I stare at someone like Nathan Sanders, I start to forget my reasons for standing here. Having his full attention feels almost like a gift. I like the way he looks at me, even if I don’t know him, and while I want to know more about Fahrenheit, a part of me wonders what dark secrets this guy has, too. Regardless, one thing proves very true right now, that whoever he is, Nathan Sanders wants to fuck me, and I can’t imagine a better person who I’d let be my guide, whether he knows it or not.

It’s in the name of science, I tell myself.

My natural inclination to be responsible and compassionate feels bad for being deceptive, but I remember that when a place like Fahrenheit is involved, normally the person doesn’t care about the why you want to fuck them, they just care about the fact you want to. No need to trouble oneself with the details. I mean, he pretty much invited me for sex before knowing my name.

“Call me when you’re sure,” he blurts out, catching me completely off guard, and pulling me out of my analyzation.

“When I’m sure?” I repeat back. I thought we just decided that I was.

“I want you to think on it. Curiosity killed the cat, ya know? Just think about it tonight, call me tomorrow when you’re sure, and we’ll go from there. If you know what Fahrenheit is then you’ll know that it’s not a decision to take lightly.”

My brows pull together.

“I look forward to the call, Lauren.”

“Sure thing, Nate,” I blatantly chide, enunciating the “t” sharply, finding it funny that although he gave me the option to reconsider, he already seems pretty sure about the outcome.

His beautiful mouth does that twitchy thing again with his eyebrow.

“Pleasure meeting you,” he says, his voice sounding deeper and more mysterious now.

“Pleasure was all mine,” I reply, watching him stroll out of the shop, seemingly empty handled, but I assure you, I’m pretty sure he somehow gained ownership of my curiosity, while I seem to be holding the key to his adventure.

“You’re really purdy,” she slurred with a lopsided grin, running her finger down my cheek.
“That’s it. No more drinks for you,” I said, dragging the glass away from her.
“No! I’ve only had three,” she said as she lurched forward, pulling the drink out of my hands.
“I’m enjoying myself. I’ve had a bitch of a week and I deserve to let loose a little.”
I held my hands up. “You’ve actually had four martinis, but anything you want, princess.”
Her eyes grew into little slits. “I’m not your princess,” she slurred, sounding completely adorable.
My cheeks hurt as I smiled. “I’m going to take you home now. I think you need to sleep it off.”
“Last time I checked,” she said before hiccupping, “you’re not my daddy.” A slow smile crept across her face. She scooted closer and whispered, “Unless that’s your thing.” She tried to wink, but both eyes closed, one after the other.
I leaned into her space, a breath away from her lips. “It’s not my thing, but I’m happy to act out your fantasies. But I don’t think you want to cross that line. Once you go there, there’s no going back.” I stared into her eyes.
“Oooh.” Her eyes grew wide. “Is that supposed to scare me, Mr. DeLuca?”
I didn’t move. “I’m just giving you fair warning. You’ve had a few drinks, and I won’t take advantage of that. I’m just telling you how it is.”
“You’re full of yourself.” Her warm, sweet breath caressed my lips as she spoke.
All I wanted to do was reach out, pull her face to mine, and kiss her full, beautiful lips. “I’m sure of myself and confident in my abilities, yes. That’s entirely different than being full of myself.” I licked my lips, testing her.
Her eyes dropped to my mouth as her lips parted.
“Another?” Lisa interrupted.
“We’re good,” I replied, keeping my eyes pinned to Race and waving Lisa off.
“Pfft,” Lisa scoffed, stomping away.
Race glared in Lisa’s direction. “She wants you,” she whispered.
Was she jealous?
“I don’t want her.”
“She’s a sure thing though.”
I leaned closer, leaving very little space between us. “I never liked easy.”
“All men like easy.” Her body swayed, moving so close our lips almost brushed.

ALFA Private Investigation ~ Aggressive, Loyal, Fearless, and Accurate

That’s the perfect name and description of what Thomas and James bring to the PI world when they open up their new business. Both of these alpha males are tenacious and know how to get the job done, which is why their business is in demand, and they need more skilled men to join their team, and Morgan DeLuca has the skillset they want and the fact that he’s cousins with the Gallos only reinforces that he’s the right man for the job.

Aggressive

Morgan knows that in order to solve any case, he needs to be forceful in tracking down evidence and protecting his client from anything happening to her, but he also finds himself aggressively denying his attraction to his client, Race True, and then once that doesn’t have a chance of happening, he pursues her with his “Gallo” ways, forcing Race to give into her feelings as well.

Loyal

Morgan’s not used to being around family, but when he moves to Florida, he’s surrounded by people who have his back, just like he has theirs, and Race falls into that category as well.

Fearless

As a Marine, Morgan faced hellacious situations but went into each one knowing that he needed to remain focused and unafraid and that’s exactly the same mentality he takes in his new job as a PI.

Accurate

Facts are the driving force of any case, and Morgan does the work that needs to be done in order to provide conclusive evidence, investigating each lead for the truth.

Morgan’s first case definitely doesn’t go how he thought it would, but he can’t deny that Race True just might be the woman for him regardless of her bossy, stubborn attitude.

Chelle Bliss’ new spinoff series, ALFA Private Investigations, brings the Gallo family back into readers’ lives and introduces them to new alpha heroes who are every bit as sexy, dirty talking, and protective as the Gallo men.

Morgan and Race’s story is steamy and suspenseful, capturing readers’ attention until Morgan solves the case and gets the girl. He has his hands full with Race because she seems to be a controlling and uptight woman, but the more he gets to know her, the more he wants to investigate the sizzling chemistry between them and find out what’s behind Race’s demanding facade.

Sinful Intent will have readers laughing at the Gallo antics, squirming over the hot scenes between Morgan and Race, and cheering for Morgan and Race to find what all of Morgan’s cousins have with their women.

Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

She’s finally ready to rock…

Toni Nichols set aside her dreams to raise her little sister, but now she’s reaching for the stars as the creator of a revolutionary interactive biography about Exodus End. She’s on tour with the rock band to immerse herself in their world, but how will she ever gain the trust of four veteran superstars who’ve been burned by the media before? Nobody said this was going to be easy. Then again, good things can come in hard packages.

He’s always ready to roll…

Adrenaline junkie Logan Schmidt lives for the rush of playing his bass guitar before thousands of screaming fans. When he’s not performing onstage or in the bedroom, he’s looking for his next thrill in extreme sports. So why does a sweet, innocent journalist get his heart pumping and capture his full attention? Is Toni the real deal or just digging up dirt on his band? Logan’s eager to rock Toni’s world and roll her in the sack, but when she starts to get too close to his heart, she takes her insider look to a place he may never be willing to go.

Review

An insider ~ someone who is privy to exclusive information…someone who learns the inside scoop about someone or something that no one else has.

I love the idea of a band allowing someone to come into their inner sanctum and get a backstage pass that allows insight into the members, their music, and their performances. But what’s even better in Olivia Cunning’s Insider is that there are more significant meanings of the word for its hero and heroine – more so than they even realize until the end of their story.

Readers will be able to relate to the heroine, Toni Nichols, as soon as they meet her. She’s super sweet and excessively shy. She’s creative and passionate and wears her heart on her sleeve, especially when it comes to her sister. She’s lived quite a sheltered life, taking care of her sister, so when she gets the opportunity to go on tour with Exodus End to create their interactive biography, she knows she needs to put herself first and explore her passions, finding out who she truly is and allowing herself the freedom to do so.

There’s so much that Toni experiences while on the road with Exodus End that helps her to learn what’s inside herself – who she wants to be and how she wants to live. She’s a selfless person who has always put others before herself. She’s a bit geeky and quirky but that only makes her more endearing.  With the help of Logan and his band members, Toni blooms into an extremely sensual woman who isn’t afraid to say what she wants and how she feels. Due to Logan’s crazy antics with her, Toni gets bolder and more independent, standing up for herself and not shying away from confrontations.

Logan Schmidt is an adrenaline junkie; he gets off on the rush, and he takes every opportunity to acquire that high in every facet of his life. He’s a bit of a loose cannon, living free and easy, but it’s his way of coping with not understanding how to deal with emotions or the idea of love because his examples haven’t been anything he would want to emulate.

At first Logan sees Toni as one more woman to add to his harem of one night stands, but just as Toni learns what’s she capable of by going on this tour, Logan gets introspective as well because Toni makes him want more for himself that what he has when it comes to relationships. They teach each other so much about themselves, and even though Logan’s hot/cold attitude when it came to his feelings for Toni pissed me off, I also understood why he acted that way because he was feeling so many emotions that were outside his wheelhouse that he didn’t know how to act, so his reaction is true to his conflicted nature.

Olivia Cunning is an absolute goddess of sexy scenes, and in Insider, they are sure to get readers all hot and bothered, but what I love most about Toni and Logan’s sexcepades is that they’re able to express their true feelings each and every time Logan gives Toni another tutorial on sex. Logan’s a manwhore – that fact is established early on in the story – he definitely knows how to please a woman and himself, but he never expected the emotions that came with his encounters with Toni and how they continued to get stronger the more they hooked up.

I loved book one in Cunning’s new Exodus End series. Readers are able to gain insight about all of the members of the band, which amps up the anticipation of their own books, and we get a fun, sexy, and emotional read that allows us an insider’s view of two characters who grow to know who they are and what they want despite the craziness around them.

“Have a seat, Toni,” Dare offered. He stood and took a gym bag from her hand. He set it on the floor next to the spot he’d vacated, making it clear that Toni should sit next to Logan on the sofa. Logan loved the guy. Such a thoughtful son of a bitch. Toni’s dark eyes, hidden behind a pair of thick-rimmed glasses, scanned the interior of the bus as if searching for refuge. Apparently the seat next to Logan was not it. Dare plopped himself down in the only available recliner and extended the leg rest, as if he had no intention of moving for the night.

“Th-thanks,” Toni said, pushing her glasses up her nose with one trembling hand.

Logan wasn’t sure what she was so nervous about all of a sudden. She’d seemed perfectly at ease when they’d been interacting with their fans. Perhaps she’d taken his comment about a lamb in a den of wolves to heart. He’d only been teasing, but he found her skittishness endearing in a world where most women threw all inhibitions to the wind when in the presence of any member of his band, much less all four of them.

The bus rumbled as it rolled forward. They were on the road again. Toni’s hands flew out as the unexpected movement threw her off balance.

She plopped down beside Logan, perching on the edge of a cushion as if the sofa’s back was made of shards of glass. Logan was pretty sure she was looking for the emergency exit. Her gaze settled on Butch, who was standing next to their driver and running over a strict schedule detailing how to get them to their next show in time while making a promotional stop between venues. Their schedule never had an inch of give. Their manager, Sam, was a genius when it came to getting the band the most exposure, but he had the tendency to believe that because they were a metal band, they were made of iron. They didn’t require useless things like down time and rest.

“So tell us more about this book,” Dare said, which was apparently the exact right thing to say to Toni, because her unease evaporated instantly.

“Have you seen the new interactive electronic textbooks?” she asked, her eager gaze moving from Dare to Max to Steve.

Logan was very conscious of the fact that she didn’t look at him once. He’d thought their attraction was mutual, but maybe not. He scooted several inches closer to her because he saw something he wanted and wasn’t one to sacrifice his personal needs for the greater good.

“Textbooks?” Steve asked. “Like for school and shit?”

“Yeah, that’s usually where textbooks are used,” she said, a teasing grin on her lush lips. When no one laughed, her face fell. Logan forced a guffaw about five seconds too late. That got his bandmates laughing. Not at Toni’s understated joke. They were laughing at his blatant stupidity. Nothing new there.

“I can’t say I’ve even seen a textbook since high school,” Steve said.

“These new interactive ones are amazing. Each topic has videos and pictures and links. It presents the information in a way that gets students who are used to constant entertainment excited about learning.”

“So you’re writing a textbook about us?” Dare asked, brows drawn together in a confused scowl.

“What kind of textbook would that be? A manual on mayhem and debauchery?” Toni cringed when no one laughed at that joke either.

Logan guffawed five seconds too late again. He was going to have to pay really close attention to what she said to figure out when she was joking. He didn’t think she lacked a sense of humor, she just looked serious. She’d definitely fit in better at a library than at standup-comedy night.

“The publishing company I work for designs and distributes these interactive textbooks,” she said. “Samuel Baily approached us to make an interactive book about the band, the first of its kind. He’s very forward thinking.”

That got the band laughing. “You might say that,” Max said. “Sometimes he’s a bit too forward thinking. He’s got every minute of our schedules booked for the next eighteen years. He thinks we’re robots or something.”

Toni’s eyes bulged. “Eighteen years?” she muttered under her breath.

Surely she knew Max was joking, so why did she look so unsettled? Wondering if he could make her blush again, Logan scooted a few more inches closer to her. His knee brushed her thigh, and she yanked on her skirt. Other than her hands and face, not an inch of bare flesh was showing. He wasn’t sure exactly what she was trying to conceal. Maybe she wasn’t open to his attempts to seduce her. Which made her a challenge. Which, like her tits, he couldn’t resist. Or maybe she had a nice boyfriend at home. His loss.

“Speaking of robots,” Steve said. “How are the prototypes of our androids coming?”

“Good until they tried to replicate my dick and ran out of materials,” Logan said.

Toni’s sudden intake of breath made him grin. That shocked her? Seriously? Too easy.

“If they ran out of materials, it had to be due to Max’s giant forehead,” Steve said.

“Or your enormous feet,” Max countered.

Toni grabbed a pad of paper out of her bag and started writing furiously. Logan leaned against her shoulder to read what had her so excited. She was writing down their conversation. In the margin, she wrote: Keep video camera close at hand when all band members are together. They’re hilarious.

He was close enough to feel her body heat and inhale the sweet fragrance of her fruity shampoo. He wondered if she tasted as sweet as she smelled.

“For the record,” Logan said in her ear as he pointed toward her notes, “I was the one with the big dick.”

Toni leaped from the sofa as if it were on fire. Her gaze darted from one guy to the next, and she pushed her glasses up her nose with the back of her wrist. God, he wanted to take those glasses off, take those clothes off, and do things to her. Naughty, devious, delicious things.

“Um . . .”

The twin bumps poking against her shapeless turtleneck drew Logan’s attention.

Hard nipples? Did his crassness turn her on? That was all the encouragement he needed to behave inappropriately. Visible nipples also meant that her bra was not padded. There was so much win in that, he should have her name engraved on a trophy.

“What’s wrong?” Logan asked. “I won’t bite. But I will nibble. And suck. And lick.”

She stared at him with her mouth agape and her eyes wide. Her nipples strained against her sweater, begging him to do all those things and more to the tips of those luscious melons.

She glanced down at her tits and immediately crossed her arms over her chest. “Is, um, there a bathroom I can use?”

“At the back of the bus,” Dare said, nodding his head toward the end of the corridor.

“Don’t take a dump in there,” Steve said. “We stop at rest areas to do that business.”

Face flaming, she sucked in a deep breath, turned, and sprinted to the back of the bus. She fumbled with the closet door and when it popped open, a stack of towels that had shifted during transit tumbled out and pummeled her in the face.

Logan climbed to his feet to rescue her. He decided to take it easy on her for the moment. He wouldn’t want to traumatize her so much she decided to leave. They both bent to pick up the same towel at the same time and bumped heads. They jerked apart and rubbed their heads in unison. Toni looked up at him, her brown, doe-like eyes watery with tears. He wasn’t sure if they were tears of pain or humiliation, but seeing them in her eyes did strange things to his chest. He wasn’t sure why it was suddenly tight.

“It’s okay,” he said, deciding that though it was fun to tease her, he’d better tone it down a bit. She obviously wasn’t used to it, and he didn’t want to harass a woman who wasn’t receptive to provocative flirting. He hadn’t intended to upset her, just wanted to have a little fun and get under that conservative skirt of hers. “I’ll get the towels, Toni. You go ahead and do your business.” He opened the bathroom door for her.

She lowered her hand from her forehead to reveal a large reddened bump.

Logan winced and leaned forward to press his lips to the lump. She sucked a startled breath into her chest. Shit. There he went crossing the line again.

“Sorry,” he murmured. “I always kiss boo-boos.”

“I have a pimple on my ass that needs kissing,” Steve called.

Logan closed his eyes and shook his head. “One of the things you should consider stressing in your book is how little fucking privacy a man has while on tour with his band.”

“I can include that,” she said, “but I think fans are more interested in the size of your dick.” She backed into the bathroom. “I know I am.” She bit her lip before closing the door in his face.
