Because of screwing up with Callie, during the summer, I’m drowning my sorrows with drink and women…or that’s what I’m trying to do, but it isn’t working. Every time I close my eyes all I see is Callie, her long flowing blonde locks, her slim curvy body with legs that go on for miles and breasts that make my mouth water. She’s become my weakness and I have no idea how to make amends for my past sin… It’s been weeks since Reece left me without a backwards glance, and I’m an idiot because I’m finding it difficult to move on and forget him. It doesn’t help that my best friend, Thalia, is engaged to his best friend, Phoenix. But tonight I intend to change all that and maybe do a little flirting with another guy and see where it leads…and who knows, it might even make the pain in my ass realize what he’s missing…
For a heroine, Callie is a bit lacking. Her expectations are extremely high for someone like Reece. He’s been a player all of his rocker life, and while yes, she may be a game changer for him; it’s not going to be an instantaneous switch, especially when he’s prone to mess up a lot. Their interaction is only one night, so it perplexes me how infested she is with Reece. I also had a hard time with how quickly she gives in to him time and time again. She doesn’t really stand up for herself and tries to make everything better with sex, which can only help so much. It just seems like she’s willing to ruin her life over a guy she barely knows and who puts her through the ringer more than once.
I’m not too sure how I feel about Reece. Yes, he knows he messed up with Callie, but he still continues to do so because of jealousy and secrets. He really frustrated me. He said he didn’t want their relationship to center around sex, but that’s exactly what it does because he always gives in to Callie’s seduction. I also understand that it’s not his place to tell someone else’s story, but isn’t it his as well? At least the part that he plays in it. His way of thinking is a bit off kilter since he knows what he’ll lose if he doesn’t give some kind of explanation.
Overall, I did like the book. I just needed a bit more character development. I kept looking for a reason to explain both Callie and Reece’s actions throughout the text, and I just couldn’t find it. The sex scenes are definitely hawt, but the plot seemed a bit cyclical…Reese messes up; Callie instantly forgives him; they have sex and then it repeats multiple times. But despite a few issues, the dual point of views helped capture how tangled up Callie and Reece are with each other, and it also sets up Donovan’s story, which I will definitely be reading. I definitely say to check this book out if you like hot rock stars and even hotter sex. Just because I had a few issues with it doesn’t mean it isn’t an enjoyable read, and perhaps the fact that I had such issues with the characters proves that the author knows how to suck readers into the text, even if it’s with feelings of frustration.

I was born in Bolton, Lancashire within the United Kingdom, where I lived, and worked at the University of Bolton. In 2010, I moved to Ireland with my husband, four kids and pack of animals.
We are now settled in a lovely town, in County Cavan. The kids love their schools, once they get there that is.
My eldest daughter, is on the Irish Junior Archery Team, and spends her time training. At least she does when her dad can get her off her ipad, reading or listening to music.
I’m part of the book review blog, Book Addict Mumma and have two wonderful new friends in Kristy Louise Garbutt and Skye Burling-Briggs.
My kindle is loaded with too many books to mention, as I absolutely love to read when I have the chance.
My all time high would be to stand at the foot of Mount Everest in the Himalayas.
