Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00030]

My world changed at the stroke of midnight. No, I’m not Cinderella—she can suck it.

When fate stepped in and waved its magic wand, my destiny, or what I thought was my destiny had been altered. With a new found energy, I decided things needed to change.

This is my time. My turn to take life by the balls. No one will hold me back, yet one man will give me hope. This is my fairy tale, and I’ll write my own ending.

I’m Gretchen Prescott, and this is my story.

From the first day I met her, I knew she was special. She was taken; we were friends. When the dumbass didn’t realize what he had, he lost her. I suppose one man’s loss could be this man’s gain.

All I wanted was to hold her, be with her and make her mine. She deserves the best things in life, and I plan on giving them to her.

I’m Mason McDermott, and this is our story.

Live a life of no regrets…of new beginnings…of fun adventures…of a lifetime of surprises

Make dreams a reality…

Take life by the balls…

Gretchen Prescott and Mason McDermott made these resolutions separately, but somehow, they end up reaching for and experiencing them together, and what they both realize as they take this journey as friends and perhaps as more is that taking detours, letting go, and fully living life is the only way to not let opportunities pass them by – ones that could lead them down the path they’ve always meant to be on…even if it doesn’t make any sense…even if a surfer boy and a princess seems more like a fairy tale than real life.

I knew going into Gretchen’s story that readers were in for a whirlwind adventure because she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with, and rightly so, due to her four overprotective brothers and what she endures due to their overbearing and loving natures, but Gretchen is her own woman, which is clearly expressed in Charmed, so when she decides to pursue something, there’s no stopping her although her new outlook and what’s driving her may cause her even more heartache and regret.

Gretchen and Mason’s story is quite the experience, and because readers are privy to both of their thoughts as well as their perspectives on life and love, we are able to understand where both characters are coming from and everything that’s at stake as they take this adventure with one another.

Charmed ended up being much different than I expected, which is definitely not a bad thing, but I was turned a bit sideways towards the end of the book and that experience left me reeling and not quite understanding the hows and whys of the situation. In the end, though, Gretchen Prescott finds her true path and stays true to herself, which is what readers want for every one of the Prescott siblings.
