The ending to Dallas and Jane’s trilogy is what I’ve been waiting for…I was ready for them to finally be “fully” with one another, and I was eager to understand Colin’s role in their kidnapping and the identity of The Woman – even though I felt like I figured it out at the end of the last book.
What’s made abundantly clear in the final installment of J Kenner’s S.I.N. series is that Dallas is no longer a terrified 15 year old boy; he’s a powerful and angry man who is finished being ruled by his past and is willing to do whatever it takes to claim Jane as his lover and expose the Jailer and the Woman for the sadistic bastards that they are. Dallas wants to be able to move forward with Jane by his side despite Dallas and Jane’s deepest and darkest secrets being spewed all over the media and despite the reality of their relationship due to their father’s disapproval.
But before Dallas and Jane figure out a way to be together in real life, they need to lay their demons to rest and figure out how to win the game against a psychopath who doesn’t seem to have anything to lose and is willing to take the necessary steps to prevent Dallas and Jane from finding their happiness together.
In Sweetest Taboo, Dallas and Jane not only fight for their relationship, but they also fight for their lives and fight to uncover Colin’s role in the kidnapping that ultimately changed their feelings for one another and brought them together in a way that would never feel wrong to them.
There’s a great mix of suspense and steam in Dallas and Jane’s final book, which makes sense because as the danger gets more intense and their secrets continue to be exposed, the only way they cope is by using one another’s bodies and finding solace in a connection that many deem inappropriate, but to them, it’s nothing but ecstasy.
